DULUTH, GA - SBT Reading Tutors LLC, an online small-group tutoring provider for grades 1 through 8, today announced the launch of its Writing Tutoring program, designed to identify and address writing difficulties long before they show up in report cards or standardized testing.

Parents typically notice reading struggles early - through reading logs, bedtime reading, or direct feedback from a classroom teacher. Writing struggles are different. Because writing is optional in most classrooms on a given day, a child can move through several grades without producing much of it, allowing organizational and grammar gaps to go unnoticed until longer assignments, such as book reports or research papers, expose them.
"Writing doesn't announce itself the way reading struggles do," said Jacqueline Thompson, Ed.S., founder of SBT Reading Tutors and a certified teacher with more than 30 years of classroom experience. "We built this program to look for that gap early, instead of waiting for a bad grade to bring it to light."

The new Writing Tutoring program follows the same instructional model as SBT's existing reading program: small groups, live online sessions, and instruction matched to a student's current skill level rather than their grade placement. Sessions run twice per week for 45 minutes over a 12-week program. Group sizes are kept small - closer to three students for grades 1 through 3, and up to five for older students - with every session led by a certified classroom teacher.
The program is available to students in grades 1 through 8 and is delivered entirely online. Families interested in enrollment or a program consultation can find full details at sbtreadingtutors.com/writing-tutoring/.
