SF MODEFA (San Francisco Modern Ethnic Fashion Show Gala and Juneteenth Forum "Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things Through Resilience"

SAN FRANCISCO - May 10, 2024 - PRLog -- AFRICAN ARTS ACADEMY presents SF MODEFA, and Juneteenth Forum 2024.

San Francisco Modern Ethnic Fashion Week, short for SF MODEFA, is a global marketplace that blends arts and technology with a haute couture ethnically inspired fashion show, panel discussion, startup competition, art exhibit, live music, and business networking. Happening on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Lodge at the Regency Center located at 290 Sutter Street in San Francisco, California.

Voted the finest San Francisco fashion show, MODEFA, short for Modern Ethnic Fashion, is a benefit event on behalf of the African Arts Academy's education and performing arts initiatives. It is a celebration of Juneteenth and International Ethnic Day, displaying some of the world's most intriguing cultural splendors.

African Arts Academy's MODEFA program, reputable for community engagement and cultural enrichment, goes beyond the event's charitable benefits. It not only enhances the academy's outreach efforts, but it will also help young entrepreneurs and local minority indigenous artists and craftspeople showcase their work on a prestigious stage, improving the lives of underserved communities. The event includes a Juneteenth forum, panel discussion, live music, and a gala dinner reception featuring international food, offering a three-course gourmet menu and beverages.

African Arts Academy, a non-profit 501(c)3, tax ID: 813494218, has the mission to provide San Franciscans with an institution for the study and practice of arts and crafts with roots in Africa and the African diaspora, based on the spirit of cultural diversity, sustainability, and social justice, bridging the traditional way of ancient wisdom via new technology, and empowering our community through cultural preservation for future generations.

The San Francisco Arts Commission Cultural Equity Grant has helped to support this event in part. For any inquiries, please contact Founder Fely Tchaco at (415) 230-2239 or visit
