John E. Jacob’s Debut Book I Will F.E.A.R. No Evil Highlights the Urgent Need for Education in Marginalized Communities

Education is a basic human right, yet for millions of people in marginalized communities, access to quality learning remains a serious challenge. Deep-rooted issues such as poverty, discrimination, and political neglect continue to hold generations back from achieving their full potential.

In his debut memoir, I Will F.E.A.R. No Evil, John E. Jacob, former President and CEO of the National Urban League, reflects on an important period in U.S. history and sheds light on the ongoing struggle for educational equity. The book examines the lost opportunities during the Reagan and Bush administrations of the 1980s and early 1990s, when national leadership often overlooked the social and economic needs of underrepresented communities.

During his tenure at the National Urban League, Jacob was a powerful voice for justice, emphasizing the need for education and job training to prepare marginalized groups for future challenges.

When asked about his stance on education, Jacob stated: “For people in poor and marginalized areas, where discrimination and exclusion are common, education can be a lifeline. It helps individuals gain the skills and knowledge needed to improve their lives, participate in society, and contribute to the growth of their communities. Education is also key in promoting gender equality, reducing child mortality, and improving health. Solving these issues is not only the right thing to do, but it is also crucial for progress and fairness in the world.”

Now more than ever, Jacob’s memoir offers a fresh, penetrating assessment of a period inaccurately portrayed as one of conservative dominance. Through his personal experiences and leadership journey, Jacob delivers a compelling reminder that progress depends on inclusive policies, equal opportunities, and unwavering advocacy for education.

I Will F.E.A.R. No Evil is now available for purchase on Amazon.
