Linyi City, Shandong Province: “Yishanfang” Transforms Local Specialties into Internet Celebrity Products

Entering the modern production workshop of the Yishanfang supply chain project in Linyi County, Shandong Province, bottles of “Night Energy Water” are rapidly filled and sealed along an automated production line. The air is filled with a subtle fragrance of astragalus and the sweetness of apples as workers swiftly package the products. Soon, these local specialties from Linyi’s fields will be shipped to 5,600 stores nationwide and over 20 self-operated stores.

The Yishanfang supply chain project is the first platform in Shandong Province that integrates food and medicinal resources. With a total investment of 300 million yuan and a construction area of 50,000 square meters, the project is expected to produce 18,000 tons of various functional foods annually, generating a revenue of 600 million yuan, contributing 12 million yuan in taxes, and creating 10,000 jobs.

To meet the demands for standardized and intelligent production, Yishanfang has jointly established a “Food and Medicine Integration Laboratory” with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, developing over ten patents, including precise food nutrition control technology. This has overcome the industry challenge of achieving 12 months of shelf life at room temperature without preservatives. Thanks to these patented technologies, local specialties such as apples, blueberries, sweet potatoes, astragalus, and prince ginseng from Linyi have been transformed into over 100 types of medicinal dishes, increasing the added value of previously sold agricultural products by nearly ten times.

With a continuous influx of orders, the project has established a closed-loop supply system of “online ordering—offline production—immediate supply” to better meet market demands. “Consumers place orders via their phones, and the order data is transmitted to us in real time. We produce immediately and deliver quickly to ensure that products reach customers fresh,” said project leader Liu Linqing, pointing to the busy workshop. Currently, the total order value has exceeded 100 million yuan, with production orders from platforms like Freshippo, Plant Masters, and JD exceeding 50 million yuan.

The establishment of this platform ultimately aims to benefit the public. Under the “Rural Revitalization Partner Program,” the Yishanfang project collaborates with 12 local cooperatives, signing “minimum price + premium sharing” purchase agreements. This approach, combined with order-based planting and market-oriented recycling, addresses farmers’ difficulties in selling their products, opening up sales channels for local agricultural products. The company currently purchases over 1,000 tons of agricultural products each year, increasing the annual income of 3,000 farmers by 5,000 yuan.

A platform that connects the nation; a set of standards that empowers the industry; a plan that strengthens villages and enriches farmers. The Yishanfang project is actively creating a “wealth chain” that links markets and farmers, illustrating the deep integration of advanced agricultural processing and rural revitalization.
