BTIG announced today the appointment of Jason Rockland as a Managing Director and Yingkang Duan as a Director within the firm’s Equity Derivatives Trading group. Mr. Duan and Mr. Rockland were hired to help expand BTIG’s capabilities in risk-arbitrage volatility trading, a natural fit alongside the firm’s Event Driven Trading business.

“We are excited to welcome Jason and Yingkang to BTIG,” said Anton LeRoy, Chief Executive Officer of BTIG. “Their deep experience in event-driven and risk-arb volatility trading will further strengthen our ability to provide liquidity, market insight, and differentiated risk solutions to clients navigating complex corporate action and special situations environments.”

Mr. Rockland joins BTIG with extensive experience across event-driven volatility and special situations derivatives. Most recently, he was a Portfolio Manager at Sumo Capital. Previously, Mr. Rockland served as Head of US Multi-Strategy Group at Maven Investment Partners, and was a Portfolio Manager – Event Driven Volatility at Verition Fund Management. Prior roles include Special Situations Derivatives Trader and Commodities Derivatives Trader at Bluefin Trading LLC, as well as senior positions at Susquehanna International Group (SIG), including Head Energy Trader – NYMEX and Head of Algorithmic Sales.

Prior to joining BTIG, Mr. Duan was a Trader at Sumo Capital, trading options and stocks in event-driven names. Previously, he served as a Volatility Arbitrage Analyst at Maven Securities, where he maintained and constructed option pricing models and built automated trading tools. Earlier, he was a Derivative Trader and Junior Trader at Bluefin Capital Management, and began his career as a Quantitative Analyst at DMI Partners.
