With more than two decades of experience in his profession, Mr. Hysinger has coached people in career planning and development and is adept at building collaborations among various groups.

When asked about his career, Mr. Hysinger doesn't point to one notable achievement, but to his "ability to unify geographically dispersed organizations and groups with different scopes and capabilities." He has employed this approach in multiple roles by implementing regular leadership meetings that sometimes include different companies in remote locations.

"This strategic planning and collaboration have been challenging, but rewarding," Mr. Hysinger says.

In his role as a consultant, Mr. Hysinger helps establish and develop organizations so that they can independently function and expand. For a time, her worked in the federal space for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection before returning to the private sector.

Work in Business Development

The business development industry is evolving, and Mr. Hysinger points to the recent changes in government contracting and business operations aimed at making them more cost-effective and efficient. For example, in the past, government agencies bought things independently but are now making more purchases through the General Services Administration. Combining these purchases into larger contracts creates a more competitive environment, which helps lower costs.

"Theoretically, it's going to push prices lower, margins lower... I think there's a lot of consolidation for increased competitiveness," Mr. Hysinger says.

Mr. Hysinger is a member of the Project Management Institute Inc. and the National Association of Sports Medicine.

Outside of the Office

Mr. Hysinger and his wife are fitness enthusiasts. In addition to serving as president of the Bodwé Group, he is a personal trainer and entrepreneur who speaks on topics such as health, wellness, personal growth and development. He believes in a holistic approach to wellness that is grounded in Christian values. He owns a fitness company with six locations in two states, with plans for expansion into a third state. The company is growing and is set to launch a new custom app in the near future.

Aside from his work, Mr. Hysinger searches for opportunities to give back to his community through public service to make a difference. "It's important for people to grow, relate and help others grow," he says.

"I'm not the typical suit-wearing or tie. I show up in hoodies all the time. Maintaining who I am is the core of my character, and I think that's important for people as they grow and move up. Don't forget where you came from. It's very important to stay humble," says Mr. Hysinger.

Mr. Hysinger encourages those entering the field not to be afraid to take chances because every step can lead to growth and opportunity.
