UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / September 30, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Marialena Anagnostou Davis, PhD, for her work as a leading regulatory medical writer at Aroga Biosciences. Leveraging her expertise in medical communications, she has excelled in creating informed consent forms that use plain language and prioritize clarity, accessibility and patient-centered communication in clinical trial documentation. For her accomplishments, Dr. Davis was included in Marquis Who's Who in July 2025.

About Dr. Davis
Dr. Davis was first drawn to the idea of becoming a scientist after losing her mother at age nine. Science hadn't appealed to her before this tragedy, but afterward she found herself fascinated by the field. Her initial thought was that she'd develop drugs to treat cancer. Later, she would understand that she could assist in other ways, such as identifying the mechanisms responsible for the disease.
A second influence on Dr. Davis' future career was her uncle, a chemist responsible for the modern invention of Greek yogurt. She was raised by his family after she lost her mother, an experience that brought them closer together. During the summer, she often worked for the companies he owned, but she did not want a career in the food industry. Her uncle taught her that there were many paths in life and she could choose one that suited her best. He explained that while some people might stay at home or work service jobs, education held the key to a different type of career.
"He was shaping me and trying to make me understand what I can do in the future," Dr. Davis explains. Influenced by her uncle's advice, she decided to pursue an academic career to acquire the skills necessary for a fulfilling and successful journey.
Providing Scientific Findings to the Public
Dr. Davis is now involved in the regulatory aspect of the medical industry, where her role is to communicate scientific findings to the public.
"I help a drug get to the market through the process of the FDA submissions. We write all the scientific papers that need to be submitted to the FDA for approval. I'm helping in the drug process, but I'm really helping with the communication, specializing in patient-centric ways," Dr. Davis explains.
Dr. Davis has been in her industry for more than a decade and has worked in the United States for seven years. She is originally from Greece and speaks three languages: Greek, English and French. In her current role, Dr. Davis meets with groups to discuss data and plans, working collaboratively. It is also her responsibility to conduct literature reviews to collect information for clients.
Helping Others Make Informed Decisions
One aspect of Dr. Davis' job that she enjoys very much is crafting informed consent forms. In the past, they were heavy with legal language and patients often could not understand what they were signing. She translates the consent forms into everyday language that people can easily read and understand, enabling them to make informed decisions about their health care.
As in many other industries, AI is having a significant impact, and there's a growing trend toward its adoption. Dr. Davis anticipates that it will instigate considerable changes while also enhancing the efficiency of procedures and systems. She believes her role will shift from writing to mostly editing and quality control.
