UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / September 30, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who Honors Jessica Ann Bradley for her expertise in laboratory science and education. She currently serves as a genetics and laboratory manager for the U.S. Air Force and an adjunct professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

About Ms. Jessica Bradley
Ms. Bradley entered the U.S. Air Force when she was only 17. Living by the motto "Never give up," her parents signed a waiver so she could enlist during her senior year of high school.
Upon entering the Air Force without being promised any particular job, Ms. Bradley was surprised to be assigned to the field of medical laboratory science, one of the most challenging and demanding medical positions within the medical enlisted corps. Today, her area of expertise resides in transfusion medicine as a specialist in the blood bank.
A Defining Career Moment
The most memorable experience of Ms. Bradley's military career was when she ran an apheresis unit, a medical device that separates and collects specific blood components, while simultaneously working as the hospital secretary. In this unique position, she directly collaborated with top hospital executives while continuing her work in blood banking. Adding to her complex array of tasks, she also managed the move of the apheresis unit to a new building while it remained in operation.
During this time, Ms. Bradley also took part in studying how long platelets could be safely stored when kept cold. She collected data to prove that the platelets efficacy could last 14 days, extending beyond the traditional time frame.
Ms. Bradley considers this period as one of the highlights of her military career because she was challenged to combine hands-on medical work, vital research, leadership responsibilities and logistics.
Research Contributions and Innovations
Throughout her career, Ms. Bradley has participated in numerous research projects. While working in Mississippi, she led a blood bank team that introduced point-of-care bacterial testing, rapid tests performed at hospitals to check if donated blood platelets are safe from bacterial growth. These tests allow hospitals to extend the storage time from five to seven days, reducing waste.
"I was recognized by the director of the Florida Panhandle for my work and my input in connecting a clinic with a hospital so that their lab tests sync up. Before this, if you were drawn at the clinic, it would be run at the clinic or sent out to a reference hospital, and the submitting provider wouldn't be able to see those results. Essentially, this sync ensured it wouldn't matter which facility you visited for blood draws. All doctors could see the test results," Ms. Bradley explains.
Ms. Bradley seeks to constantly learn more and expand her knowledge base and has completed data archives, validations, version upgrades for several systems, including WellSky, Cerner, DataARC and Soft Computer. She is also proud of her ability to create innovative and forward-thinking projects.
Personal Life and Support System
Ms. Bradley, who recently retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service, has two teenage children and three dogs. She attributes her success to the unwavering support of her grandparents, children and friends throughout her career.
"You're going to have good and bad experiences, but both will teach you lifelong lessons and will mold you into who you are as a person," Ms. Bradley says.
