Appelbaum has joined the firm, bringing more than 37 years of legal experience and a deep commitment to helping injured individuals and their families seek justice.

Larry focuses his practice on catastrophic personal injury, construction litigation, professional negligence, automobile accidents, premises liability, and wrongful death cases. Known for his compassion and determination, Larry takes pride in helping clients rebuild their lives after serious injuries and guiding them through some of life's most difficult challenges.

Before joining the Law Offices of R.F. Wittmeyer, Ltd., Larry gained extensive trial and litigation experience as a trial attorney with the Lake County Public Defender's Office and later as staff counsel for major insurance companies, giving him a valuable, well-rounded perspective in advocating for plaintiffs. He earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois, and he was honored with the American Jurisprudence Award in Insurance Law. Larry has also published articles on tort law and construction negligence and is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Lake County Bar Association.

Outside the courtroom, Larry is a devoted family man and community leader. He and his wife, Debbie, live in Vernon Hills, where he's known for his enthusiasm for basketball, spikeball, and pickleball. Larry has organized community pickleball tournaments through the Vernon Hills Park District, raising funds for the Family Scholarship Fund, which helps provide recreational opportunities for underprivileged children and families. In recognition of his efforts, he received the Vernon Hills Park District Community Service Award in 2024.
