Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

El Segunda Chevron Refinery Explosion Lawyers at The Wagner Law Group Announce a New Chevron Refinery Fire & Smoke Inhalation Hotline at (833) 200-7111

The Chevron Refinery in El Segunda had a Catastrophic Fire Causing Severe Injuries to Local Residents, First Responders and Employees at the Facility

LOS ANGELES, CA, October 05, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- El Segunda Chevron Refinery Lawyers at The Wagner Law Group are pleased to announce a no-cost victim hotline at (833) 200-7111 for people who would like to speak with an attorney regarding their specific situation. "Anytime there is a disastrous fire and dangerous chemicals are released into the air; innocent people are going suffer severe injuries. Smoke inhalation, property damage and emotional distress are very serious," says Butch Wagner of The Wagner Law Group.

During the night of Thursday October 2, 2025 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a large explosion occurred at the Chevron refinery in Southern California. It is the largest refinery in California. Several very large fires broke out as a result and the sky was filled with a large amount of smoke. The Wagner Law Group has implemented a new hotline for those affected. Images and videos of the fire have appeared on local news stations and on various social media platforms and they are shocking. The fires could be seen for miles and apparently the explosion was so powerful many people originally thought it was an earthquake.

Chevron Refinery Lawyers in El Segunda at The Wagner Law Group have learned that the fire in Los Angeles County has not led to any deaths so far. Employees and first responders appear to be surviving. Long term health concerns are undetermined. A shelter in place order was announced shortly after the explosion occurred because of the poor air quality. The Chevron refinery is very large. It's located just south of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The Chevron Refinery has its own fire department on site. When the fire broke out Chevron's firefighters were joined by emergency personnel from El Segundo and Manhattan Beach to extinguish the blaze.

Fire and explosion lawyers at The Wagner Law Group believe the number of people impacted by this disastrous situation will be very high given the high population density in the area and the Chevron refinery's proximity to the Los Angeles International Airport, which was completely blanketed with smoke. It's unknown at this time how many people have been treated for smoke inhalation or how many people suffered smoke inhalation and were not treated.

If you were in the area where the Chevron refinery explosion occurred on the evening of October 2nd or on October 3rd you may have suffered as a result of this disaster. "Smoke inhalation can have severe immediate and long-term impacts to a person's health ranging from respiratory problems to very severe health issues. Smoke and dangerous chemicals disbursed into the area can also cause property damage and impact people in other ways where they may be entitled to compensation," says Aaron of The Wagner Law Group, experienced personal injury lawyers.

The Chevron refinery explosion will also likely impact consumers in addition to the people who were affected by the disaster directly. The Chevron refinery is estimated to provide about 40% of the jet fuel for planes at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and about 20% of the motor vehicle fuel for all of Southern California. Gas prices and Airfare will likely be impacted. Aaron says, "If you were affected by the Chevron refinery explosion, we encourage you to call the hotline to speak with an experienced fire attorney to understand how you might be entitled to compensation at (833) 200-7111."

In addition to being fire and explosion lawyers and other California Wildfire Attorneys, The Wagner Law Group is the premier Prison Sex Abuse Attorney in California. They have represented numerous FCI Dublin prison sex abuse victims. They have also been the most chosen law by their clients for all types of personal injury cases as well as certain types of employment matters which have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation for their clients.
