About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Springer School and Center Adds Parent Coaching to Their Services

Emily Schweppe, PCI Certified Parent Coach® joins Springer School and Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, to offer parent coaching services

BELLINGHAM, WA, May 09, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Parent Coaching Institute (PCI) enthusiastically announces that PCI Certified Parent Coach®, Emily Schweppe will offer parent coaching services at the Springer School and Center. Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, Springer's mission is to empower students with learning disabilities to lead successful lives. Their specialized curriculum and personalized learning strategies help students with learning disabilities build the educational, emotional, and social skills to succeed in the classroom—and everywhere else.

"I'm so thrilled to be partnering with Springer School and Center as a Parent Coach," states Mrs. Schweppe. "With over 16 years of experience in child development, education, and family support, I'm passionate about partnering with caregivers as a compassionate thinking partner—offering encouragement, insight, and support to help make the parenting journey become a little less stressful and a lot more joyful."

Gloria DeGaetano, Founder and CEO of the Parent Coaching Institute where Emily attended and received her Parent Coach Certification® couldn't be more thrilled as well. "Whenever any PCI graduates are selected by a school or organization to offer parent coaching services, I know everyone benefits. We train family support professionals in a strength-based coaching approach that is highly effective, even life changing. PCI's coaching model fits well with Springer's mission."

Carmen Mendoza, Springer's Director of Growth and Enrollment adds, "Emily's presence as a Parent Coach offers our community a meaningful new layer of support—one that honors parents' wisdom while equipping them with tools to navigate challenges with confidence and connection."

Mrs. Schweppe explains, "What makes the role of parent coach at Springer especially meaningful to me is their clear and consistent commitment to supporting the whole child and the whole family. From specialized academic programs and diagnostic evaluations to referral services and parent support offerings, the school provides a wide range of meaningful resources designed to help children thrive and ensure families feel connected, supported, and empowered."

In addition to offering parent coaching services, Mrs. Schweppe will provide parent talks and workshops as well as contribute blog posts to their website. Her most recent post, What You Focus on Grows, gives practical suggestions to free parents from negative feedback loops when correcting their children.

"I highly respect Emily's expertise and professionalism," explains Ms. DeGaetano. "At PCI we understand the necessity of and power in diversity. We believe that parents who embrace their unique strengths will naturally discover more joy and ease in their parenting. Emily's approach meets parents where they are at. And this is exactly what the PCI coaching process is all about. When we help parents grow and apply their distinctive talents and abilities, they experience more energy within themselves and many more life-affirming moments with their kids."

"And, of course, as Emily says, 'When parents feel supported and connected, kids thrive—because they feel supported and connected, as well.'"
