The Healthcare Diversity Council Recognizes Top Organization and Leader Awardees at the Third Annual National Healthcare DEI Conference

PITTSBURGH, Pa., May 17th, 2022 /3BL Media/ - The Healthcare Diversity Council (HDC), an initiative of the National Diversity Council (NDC), will host its third annual National Healthcare DEI Conference on the theme, “Planning our Path to Equity,” on Tuesday, July 19th and Wednesday, July 20th, at the DoubleTree by Pittsburgh Downtown.

“Through collaborative efforts and an unwavering commitment to advocate for inclusion, the Healthcare Diversity Council will seize the opportunities ahead of us to accomplish our goals.” said Ángeles Valenciano, CEO of the National Diversity Council. “Taking place over two days, the National Healthcare DEI Conference is a premier leadership development event, gathering healthcare professionals and leaders from all over the nation in paneled discussions on ways to provide equitable care.”

The conference will include over 15 panel sessions and an awards luncheon honoring individuals and organizations in recognition of their exemplary diversity initiatives and efforts in paving the way for equitable healthcare delivery. The Healthcare Diversity Council’s Dr. Harry Gibbs Legacy Award Winner is Laura Guyer, PhD, MEd, RDN, Associate Director, Global Health Education Program and Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Florida, College of Medicine. The HDC’s Top Three Healthcare Organizations are Premier Health, GuideWell and Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health.

The HDC’s Champion for Advancing Health Equity is David Epstein, Director of Domestic Human Resources at Doctors Without Borders. The Top Three Healthcare Diversity Leaders are Dr. Archana Vatwani, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University; Dr. Lucila Ramiro, Vice President of Tampa General Medical Group; and N. Chineye Anako, Regional Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
