About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Condolence Reference Held in Pakistan Fetches the Name of Late Japanese PM Shinzo Abe in the Upper Echelons of History - UN KAKHTAH Named after Shinzo Abe
A condolence reference for the former Japanese Prime Minister Late Mr Shinzo Abe was held in Pakistan, by Pakistan Japan Intellect Forum (PJIF). Under the patronage of Syed Nadeem Alam Shah (Honorary Consul General of Japan in Balochistan), Ch. Homayoun Akhtar Chattha (Director PJIF) hosted the event.

Pakistan has expressed deep sorrows and griefs over the sad demise of late Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, by holding a condolence reference for him. The memorial event was organized by Pakistan Japan Intellect Forum (PJIF) at Ramada Hotel, Lahore.

Shinzo Abe was the longest acting Prime Minister of Japan (holding the office from 2006-2007 and then again in 2012-2020). His political ideology was grounded on conservatism and nationalism which earned him both friends and foes. He was assassinated by a homemade firearm while addressing a political rally on July 8. This shocking incident was the first of its kind in Japan since the end of WWI.

In memory of Mr Shinzo Abe, a meeting was hosted by Pakistan Japan Intellect Forum in Lahore. Under the patronage of Syed Nadeem Alam Shah (Honorary Consul General of Japan in Balochistan), Ch. Homayoun Akhtar Chattha (Director PJIF) hosted the event.

The organizing body included Mr Iqbal Burma (President PJIF), Ms Sitara (VP PJIF),  and certain NGOs associated with Japan. The meeting was attended by dignitaries from business, education and various other sectors.

Syed Nabeel Hashmi (President AOTS) began addressing the meeting, remarking that Mr Shinzo Abe was a statesman who had led Japan during hard times.

Noted educationists Prof. Dr. Nizam-Ud-Din Chairman KITAAS Ex-Chairmain HEC, Punjab, and Prof. Aurangzeb Hafi Chief Research Methodologist Asia & Oceania Post-Doctoral Academia (AOPDA) also extended there condolence messages.

Dr. Nizam suggested thst certain scholarships should be started in the name of Mr. Shinzo Abe.

Polymath arch-researcher Prof Dr Aurangzeb Hafi (P.I. & Chief Research Methodologist at AOPDA) argued that on such occasions of sadness, we must not suffice on expressing grief alone; rather, we should learn and strive to proceed along the lofty roadmaps laid down by such incidents. Prof. Hafi also announced the SAARC chapter of UN-KAKHTAH DRR Repository to be named after the late Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The United Nations KAKHTAH multiversity and DRR repository get their title-ovations after the four legendary stalwarts who became responsible for bringing forth some real ‘difference' during the hardest test of human solidarity—the aftermaths of Asian Tsunami of 2004, through their meritorious renderings—the two individuals and the two organizational bodies; 1- Kofi Annan, - the former UN secretary general, 2- Helen Keller Intl - a US based international organization, 3- Tzu-chi Foundation - a multi-regional NGO from Taiwan, and 4- Aurangzeb Hafi - a multi-disciplinary DDR expert from Pakistan. The repository is intended to serve as the SAARC region's institutional hub for catering the ISDR needs and DRR research works up-to the post-doctoral level.Thereafter, Mr Iqbal Burma, Founder and President of PJIF brought the meeting to a conclusion, and read a message of condolence on behalf of PJIF, wishing that the peace and harmony prevails despite such unsettling events.  Other speakers at the meeting included Ms Sitara, Mr Amir Sheikh, Mr Shahid Malik. Attendees included Members of Pak Japan Business Forum (PJBF), AOTS, Mr Umair (President Bonsai Society) and some media personnel. Syed Nadeem Alam offered a note of thanks to all attendees.
