About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

First-Ever Vegan Meal Guinness World Record Attempt to Serve Underserved Communities in LA

Los Angeles, CA - June 19, 2024 - In a groundbreaking effort to combat food injustice and celebrate Juneteenth, Chef Supreme Divine and The Harvest Academy, along with key sponsors Beyond Meat, Gen V, and Vegans of LA, will set a Guinness World Record by delivering 1,000 vegan meals in one hour at Estrada Courts. This event not only aims to break records but also address the food disparities faced by underserved communities in LA and across the nation.

The event will take place at Estrada Courts, famously known as the home of music icon Will.I.Am, on Wednesday, June 19th, from 2 PM to 8 PM. The record attempt will occur between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The record attempt will feature two categories: community meals and vegan community meals. In addition to the record-setting 1,000 meals, the event will also provide meals to the remaining 700 residents of the area, ensuring no one is left behind.

This initiative addresses the critical issue of food injustice by providing healthy, plant-based meals to communities that lack access to nutritious food. As Chef Supreme Divine puts it, “Food is either poison or medicine. This event helps prevent diet-related diseases and ensures everyone has the right to be whole, happy, and healthy.” This event underscores the idea that "Food is freedom," and there is no better day than Juneteenth to highlight the importance of food justice.

"This event represents more than just a culinary challenge; it embodies our commitment to fostering unity and health within our community through sustainable food practices. By serving these meals, we are not only feeding bodies but also nourishing souls and strengthening the communal bonds that define our city," said Chef Supreme Divine of The Harvest Academy.

Representatives from Council District 14, Beyond Meat, The Boys and Girls Club, and Gen V will also be in attendance to show their support for this landmark event.

The community is invited to attend and participate in this historic event. Volunteers are also needed to help with meal preparation, distribution, and event logistics. Those interested in volunteering can contact Chef Supreme Divine (805)200-9917 for more details.

Chef Supreme Divine, a disabled Army veteran, has made it his mission to change the world through food. Over the past two years, he has served over 30,000 meals, leveraging his personal experiences of homelessness to give back to the community. This event is a part of a larger mission to provide healthy, vegan meals to all underserved communities.

This unprecedented event marks the first vegan feed of its kind, led by a dedicated veteran committed to improving the lives of those in underserved communities. Chef Supreme Divine’s personal journey from homelessness to feeding the homeless adds a compelling narrative to this significant community event.
