About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

September 2025 CPP Payments Recap and Future Schedule

September 2025 CPP Payments Recap and Future Schedule

The scheduled Canada Pension Plan (CPP) payment was issued on Thursday, September 25, 2025, providing retirees, disabled individuals, and survivors across Canada with their monthly pension income. This payment included the 2.7% cost-of-living increase applied in January 2025, ensuring benefits kept pace with inflation.

Key payment details

The August payment has already been deposited for those enrolled in direct deposit, while cheque recipients may have experienced standard postal delivery times.

The remaining CPP payments for 2025 are confirmed as:

  • October 29, 2025 (Wednesday)
  • November 26, 2025 (Wednesday)
  • December 22, 2025 (Monday)

2025 CPP increase

Earlier this year, the CRA confirmed a 2.7% increase in CPP benefits, tied to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). This adjustment supports Canadians as they manage higher prices for essentials such as groceries, housing, and healthcare.

In 2025:

  • Maximum retirement pension at age 65: $1,433/month
  • Average monthly payment: about $900

Individual amounts vary depending on career contributions and the chosen start age.

Who qualifies

CPP remains a contributory, earnings-based plan. To receive benefits, individuals must be at least 60 years old and have made at least one valid contribution during their working years. Retirees may choose to begin earlier (with reduced payments) or delay up to 70 (with increased payments). Once payments begin, they are adjusted annually to match inflation.

Additional benefits

Many Canadians receiving CPP also qualify for related supports:

  • Old Age Security (OAS): Up to $727.67 (ages 65–74) or $800.44 (75+) monthly in the July–September 2025 quarter.
  • Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS): For low-income OAS recipients, up to $1,086.88/month may be added, depending on income level and marital status.
  • Post-Retirement Benefit (PRB): Available to those still working between ages 60–70 after starting CPP.

Disability and survivor coverage

CPP also covers:

  • Disability benefit for contributors under 65 with severe, long-term disabilities.
  • Survivors pension for spouses or partners of deceased contributors.
  • Childrens benefits for dependent students under 25.

The September 25, 2025, CPP payment has been delivered successfully, reflecting this year’s inflationary adjustment. With upcoming CPP payments in October, November, and December scheduled, seniors and eligible contributors can plan their finances with greater certainty.
