About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

HungryFriendBusiness Partners with Professionals of America (BPA) to Drive Local Fundraising Across 1,300 Chapters Nationwide

HungryFriendBusiness Partners with Professionals of America (BPA) to Drive Local Fundraising Across 1,300 Chapters Nationwide

Columbus, OH - August 27, 2025 - Business Professionals of America (BPA) is proud to announce a new nationwide partnership with HungryFriend, a fast-growing fundraising platform that empowers communities to support their local BPA chapters simply by dining out.

Through this partnership, BPA members, families, alumni, and supporters can turn everyday meals into lasting impact — all without spending anything extra. By registering a card in the HungryFriend app and dining at more than 20,000 participating restaurants, a percentage of each transaction is automatically donated to support local BPA chapters.

With over 1,300 chapters across the United States, this initiative unlocks a powerful new way to raise funds at scale while engaging communities on the ground.

“BPA is excited to partner with HungryFriend as we continue to equip today’s students with the skills and resources to become tomorrow’s leaders,” said Dr. LouAnn Ross, BPA Executive Director. “This initiative gives our chapters a meaningful, low-lift fundraising tool that integrates seamlessly into everyday life.”

Whether it’s helping cover travel costs for national competitions, funding classroom technology, or supporting career development programs, the donations raised through HungryFriend go directly back to individual BPA chapters — where they can make the most difference.

“BPA is exactly the kind of organization we built HungryFriend to support,” said Bryant Walker, Chief Marketing Officer at HungryFriend. “They’re community-rooted, student-driven, and making a real impact — and now every lunch, coffee run, or dinner out can help move that mission forward.”

Here’s how it works:

  1. Visit www.hungryfriend.com and choose your local BPA chapter
  2. Register your debit or credit card (secure and encrypted)
  3. Dine at participating restaurants — and generate automatic donations

No flyers, no round-ups, no asking for extra donations. Just one-time signup, and everyday dining becomes everyday giving.

The partnership officially launches this month, with chapters and supporters encouraged to begin registering immediately.
