About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Trustifi Launches One-Click Compliance for FERPA & COPPA, Adding to a List of Regulations Including HIPAA, CCPA, PCI, & GDPR

Trustifi's Unique Cyber Security Solution Automates "Set and Forget" Compliance, Making it Effortless for Users to Adhere to a Host of Complex Regulations

LAS VEGAS, NV / ACCESSWIRE / August 23, 2021 / Leading software-as-a-service (SaaS) email encryption security company Trustifi announces it has enhanced its One-Click Compliance™ feature, adding new compliance regulations to accommodate evolving statutes in the US and across the globe. This innovative cyber security company is rolling-out new compliance automation to accommodate both the FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) regulations in the United States. This is in addition to Trustifi's existing One-Click Compliance features, which automatically address sweeping regulations like HIPAA in the healthcare industry, PCI in the retail sector, CCPA in California, GDPR in Europe, and a roster of others.

The One-Click Compliance tool allows administrators to easily set the solution to screen emails to automatically comply with a list of more than 10 regulatory compliance guidelines. System administrators need only to select which regulations the company desires for compliance from an on-screen list. The system's AI-powered optical character recognition filters then proceed to scan each user's emails, automatically encrypting any outgoing messages that includes sensitive data in adherence to a specific compliance regulation. Employees can then include necessary personal identifying information or credit card numbers in their correspondences, and those emails will be automatically encrypted to comply with HIPAA, PCI, etc.-without any intervention on the part of the sender. Administrators can designate the system to scan for as many different compliance regulations as they'd like, and can set policy rules such as how long a period the encrypted mail can be opened. The One Click option is simple to deploy-administrators literally just click down a list of boxes, making this a "set-and-forget-it" solution.

Trustifi's One-Click Compliance feature is differentiated by industry-leading ease-of-use, since emails can be sent and received as easily as an unencrypted message. This is in stark contrast to competing email encryption systems, where both senders and recipients often have to go through inconvenient, cumbersome steps to achieve authentication, such as the need to click on third-party portals or enter separate credentials in order to open a message. Such burdensome requirements can hinder the adoption of encrypted email. In comparison, Trustifi's open rate for encrypted mail is estimated at 90%--far greater than competing systems with multi-step procedures for sending and opening messages.

Trustifi is constantly adding updates for its One-Click Compliance capability, increasing the breadth of regulations the system can address. The tool accommodates a range of regulatory statues, including for global environments, e.g., PDPO for Hong Kong, POPI for South Africa, and LGPD for Brazil.

"Businesses will be hard pressed to find a more comprehensive and streamlined method of compliance than our One-Click Compliance tool. It delivers an extraordinary range of capabilities, creating a fully automated environment that adheres to a wide range of regulatory statutes. And there's no learning curve-all this compliance takes place without any requirements from the user. Once an administrator sets up his preferences, the solution does all the work," said Rom Hendler, CEO and co-founder of Trustifi. "The ease with which employees can apply this very effective solution is a game-changer when it comes to speeding adoption of email encryption. A solution like One-Click Compliance can help proliferate more secure and viable email environments in the business community, especially in sensitive markets like finance, healthcare, legal, and other verticals where confidential information is transmitted through cyberspace every day. We'll continue to enhance Trustifi's ability to safeguard users from risks and inadvertent compliance violations."
