About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Tanya Ghanjanasak is the Subject of a New Interview

The former physician and current medical writer sat down to discuss her life, her career, and her professional philosophy.

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL / ACCESSWIRE / June 23, 2022 / It is with great enthusiasm that freelance medical writer and former family physician Tanya Ghanjanasak, DO announces that she is the subject of a new, in-depth interview. The interview, which was conducted by journalist Stefan Junge on behalf of an online periodical aimed at entrepreneurs and businesspeople, was published on May 20, 2022.

Early in the piece, Dr. Ghanjanasak is asked to describe her process upon accepting a writing commission. "I rely a lot on research when I'm working on a topic," she replies, before elaborating, "Right now, I'm starting a piece on cirrhosis, which is a liver disease. Before typing a word, I'll find four or five different articles on cirrhosis so I can orient myself with the most up-to-date information, such as any current clinical practice guidelines. Once I have a thorough understanding of the topic, I'll dive into writing the piece based on the client's request. That could mean I'll write about the latest treatments or the newest guideline recommendations. Sometimes the subject matter is more broad, like discussing the importance of coordinating with multiple specialists. Whatever I'm writing about, I pride myself on being thorough and having a quick turnaround for completion."

Further along in the interview, Dr. Tanya Ghanjanasak responds to a question about a strategy that has helped her grow her freelance writing business. "My strategy is to make sure my clients' lives are made easier by working with me. I like to anticipate their needs and deliver before they even ask for something. This has helped my business grow because my clients know if they hire me, they will have thoroughly researched information in an easy-to-read format that takes into account all of their requirements. There is no need for them to micromanage me. Because of my medical background, I have a legitimate understanding of every topic that I research. If I need more information, I know what resources to use to find it. As an entrepreneur, I find that if you make the client's life easier, you will have a repeat client. Even better, they'll share my name if someone approaches them to ask for recommendations. It pays to be thorough and efficient."

Anyone curious to read the full text of the interview can find it located here, while anyone interested in learning more about Tanya Ghanjanasak is invited to read her professional blog.

About Dr. Tanya Ghanjanasak:

Dr. Tanya Ghanjanasak is a freelance medical writer. A former physician, Dr. Ghanjanasak's work is well-informed by her extensive medical training and experience. After earning a Doctorate of Osteopathy from Touro University, she began her career in the military, occupying multiple leadership positions. From there, Dr. Ghanjanasak moved into the private practice of family medicine.

However, upon taking maternity leave to care for her newborn son, Dr. Tanya Ghanjanasak came to the realization that she no longer wished to practice medicine, and instead settled upon the vocation of medical writing. Professionally, her dedication to thorough research and quick turnaround time has made her writing highly sought-after in the medical community.

As she has transitioned from being a full-time doctor to a stay-at-home mom and remote worker, Tanya learned to prioritize work-life balance. In her free time, she likes to experiment with cooking and food preparation. She also enjoys exploring the restaurants in her home city of St. Augustine, Florida. Primarily, though, she loves spending time with her young son.
