About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Marquis Who's Who Honors Michel A. Daage, MS, PhD, for Expertise in Chemistry and Catalysis

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / September 17, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Michel A. Daage, PhD, for his expertise in chemistry, catalysis and energy research. With more than four decades of experience, he has built a career marked by the discovery and commercialization of new technologies, as well as mentoring the next generation of scientists.

About Michel A. Daage

Dr. Daage currently serves as an independent consultant, identifying technologies of interest to the oil and gas industry with a focus on low-emission fuels and lubricants derived from petroleum, natural gas and biomass. His work reflects a rare achievement in research: translating laboratory discoveries into commercial applications. Few scientists in his field have successfully taken a completely new idea through the discovery, development and commercialization stages. Still, Dr. Daage has accomplished this milestone with lasting impact.

Dr. Daage's career began in France as a chargé de recherche at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique from 1978 to 1984. After completing his postdoctoral studies in the United States, he joined Exxon in 1984, where he completed a distinguished 32-year tenure with ExxonMobil. Rising to the role of senior scientific advisor, he became one of the inventors of advanced hydrocracking technology.

This breakthrough transformed the Rotterdam refinery into a billion-euro facility that today coproduces distillates and high-quality Group II lubricants, securing its role as one of Europe's leading producers. Following his retirement in 2015, Dr. Daage founded Innovative Catalysis and Processing, where he continued his work until 2024.

Dr. Daage holds a bachelor's and master's degree in chemistry and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in physical sciences from Lille 1 University of Science and Technology in 1983. His expertise is recognized internationally through more than 40 publications, frequent invited presentations at national and international conferences and more than 70 U.S. patents. These include notable patents for producing lube base stocks from renewable feeds, gas conversion and hydrocracking gas oils with increased distillate yield.

The Importance of Mentorship

Throughout his career, Dr. Daage has consistently emphasized mentorship as a vital component of his legacy. At ExxonMobil, he worked closely with PhD students and new employees by guiding them through the complexities of research and technology development. He credits his own success in part to the many mentors he encountered early in his career, renowned figures whose diverse perspectives inspired his growth.

Recognition for Dr. Daage's contributions includes multiple awards from ExxonMobil and the prestigious Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award from the Research and Development Council of New Jersey in 2020. These honors reflect both the depth of his research and the practical influence of his inventions in the energy industry.

A Dedication to Family and Career

In his personal life, Dr. Daage is devoted to his family and takes pride in guiding his daughter and grandchildren. He also enjoys hiking and genealogy.

Looking ahead, Dr. Daage plans to continue sharing his expertise and mentoring young scientists as the field of heterogeneous catalysis undergoes a significant transition. He believes persistence, adaptability and a positive outlook remain the keys to progress. By combining scientific rigor with mentorship and family dedication, Dr. Daage ensures his impact will extend well beyond his own career.
