About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Nexa3D Welcomes Industry Veteran Ken Kisner to Board of Directors

Nexa3D, known for ultrafast polymer 3D printing, is delighted to announce the appointment of digital innovation leader Ken Kisner to its board of directors.

Kisner is a proponent of next-generation technologies, with a background in entrepreneurship and collaborative leadership. Having founded three businesses – Modern Alchemy, Triangle Digital LLC, and Molecule Corp – he has built extensive knowledge of end-to-end business operations. Since Henkel acquired Molecule in 2019, Kisner and his team have been at the forefront of Henkel’s strategic advances in next-generation additive manufacturing materials and technologies.

Kisner was instrumental at Henkel in directing the global strategy for the Additive Manufacturing group. He played a key role in advancing functional photoplastics and elastoplastics, serving as a catalyst to open systems collaborations throughout the additive manufacturing industry. This spring, Kisner, following his passion of rapid innovation and digital transformation, moved into a new role as Henkel’s Global Head of Digital Innovation. Focusing now on the digital transformation of the company’s scientific community, he and his team are pushing forward as a data-first culture.

Kisner’s drive and unique expertise have stood out as Nexa3D and Henkel have advanced their partnership, including through the recent establishment of the full-scale NEXTFACTORY additive manufacturing customer experience center. Kisner is now directly deepening his own relationship with Nexa3D through his new position on the board of directors.

“Nexa3D can benefit from Ken’s vast experience and entrepreneurial mindset at the board level as we take our open materials platform strategy to a 2.0 level,” said Avi Reichental, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Nexa3D. “His commitment to advancing the industry aligns with our values as we continue to emphasize and prioritize circular design principles in everything we do. Expanding industry collaborations, in which together everyone achieves more, is at the heart of our strategic approach to industrial 3D printing. No one understands that better than Ken, and we are thrilled that he has chosen to be an integral part of our journey.”

“I am excited to join with the Nexa3D business,” said Kisner. “They are uniquely positioned in the industry with a low cost of ownership and a strong focus on production systems. I look forward to becoming more involved and helping to drive toward a collaborative, sustainable future in additive manufacturing.”
