About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Tomkoria comes to BuzzFeed most recently from Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ: ATVI) - a leading global developer and publisher of interactive entertainment that houses Call of Duty, Candy Crush and more - where she was responsible for executing the company’s investor relations strategy. She brings to her role at BuzzFeed deep public company experience and a track record of building and scaling best-in-class processes; prior to Activision, she held finance leadership roles at GE, Ebay and Deluxe Entertainment. Tomkoria earned her MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and her BA in Economics from Haverford College.

“I’m thrilled that Amita will be the key BuzzFeed liaison with investors, analysts and other key Wall Street stakeholders. She brings tremendous experience from the worlds of media, entertainment, and e-commerce, which are all key elements of BuzzFeed’s diversified revenue model,” said BuzzFeed Founder and CEO Jonah Peretti. “Once we’re a public company later this year, BuzzFeed will be in an ideal position to hit the ground running thanks to our solid financial performance, the addition of Complex Networks, our newly constituted board, and now, Amita leading Investor Relations.”

“I am so excited to join BuzzFeed at such a pivotal moment in the Company’s history,” said Amita Tomkoria. “BuzzFeed’s data-driven business model presents multiple opportunities to unlock value for audiences and shareholders alike across advertising, content and commerce and I look forward to helping the company realize this potential as it enters the next phase of growth.”

On June 24, 2021, BuzzFeed announced that it will merge with 890 5th Avenue Partners, Inc., ($ENFA) a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), to become a publicly traded company. As part of the transaction, BuzzFeed entered into an agreement to acquire Complex Networks, a leading global youth network. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2021, after which BuzzFeed will begin trading under the ticker symbol $BZFD. At that time, a new slate of leaders will join BuzzFeed’s Board of Directors. These will include: investor and talent manager Anjula Acharia; Adam Rothstein, Executive Chairman of 890 5th Avenue Partners; and Greg Coleman, an advisor to 890 and former BuzzFeed President. On August 30, 2021 Joan Amble, a seasoned audit expert with financial leadership experience at American Express and General Electric, also joined BuzzFeed’s Board as Audit Chair.
