About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

New 7,000-square foot immersive concept space brings the future of banking to customers and the community

Citi today opened its new global headquarters branch featuring a state-of-the-art Client Center in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood, offering a view into the future of retail banking. “Our customers and the communities that we serve are at the heart of everything we do and that’s why we’re so proud to open the doors to our new, reimagined flagship headquarters branch,” said Gonzalo Luchetti, Head of the U.S. Consumer Bank at Citi. “Designed to provide customers with highly personalized service, our new Client Center brings the best of Citi as a global bank to the Tribeca community.”

With 14-foot sliding screens, tall pivot doors and cutting-edge technology, the space is designed to seamlessly shift from a spacious event area, to smaller community co-creation spaces and multiple private areas for one-on-one client conversations about investing, getting a mortgage, or receiving a loan to start a small business.

Customers may also use modern ATMs, engage concierge bankers for simple transactions, or stop by the service bar, where Citibank colleagues can assist with more complex banking needs.

With input from neighbors through focus groups, the Client Center is also crafted to welcome the community with lounge seating, complimentary Wi-Fi, and coffee. There is also an interactive knowledge library wall to learn more about Citi’s products and services, the history of Tribeca and key landmarks, and even have some fun with a game that designs an imaginary currency.

“Our new headquarters branch is the embodiment of a global bank that connects locally,” said Craig Vallorano, Head of U.S. Retail Banking at Citi. “We are committed to shifting the mindset that branches are just a means to cash and deposit checks and be a go-to meeting space where you build deeper relationships with your bankers and interact with members of your community.”

The debut of the new headquarters branch follows recent renovations of Citi’s global headquarters, including the refurbishment of the plaza and surrounding public areas, and underscores Citi’s commitment to lower Manhattan.

“We are thrilled to welcome colleagues, customers and neighbors to experience our new headquarters branch,” said branch manager Asmir Redzematovic. “We’re ready to greet our customers to fulfill their banking needs or to simply connect with neighbors for conversation and a cup of coffee!”

Citi’s new headquarters branch is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm and Saturdays from 9am to 3pm.
