About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Strike Graph Introduces New Integration With Google Drive

Broad Integration Enables Automation for 30% of Audit Evidence

Strike Graph, a compliance automation startup, today announces the launch of its new Google Drive integration, the first of many integrations on its roadmap. Since most policy, process and business documentation sits within folders on a shared drive, this new integration offers a flexible means for simple audit evidence collection. Security audits, such as a SOC 2 or ISO 27001, can dramatically reduce a company's enterprise sales. The process of compliance entails the manual collection of meeting notes, policy documents, change tickets and many other artifacts.

Strike Graph stores critical cybersecurity compliance evidence for their customers. This evidence is utilized by auditors to assess compliance. A large portion of the required evidence for SOC 2 or ISO 2700 includes a company's policies, processes and operational documentation. This new Google Drive integration allows Strike Graph customers to connect any file in their Google Workspace to their cybersecurity evidence requirements. This integration is now available as a part of Strike Graph’s core service for all customers.

This form of broad integration allows Strike Graph users to take advantage of already effective practices and increases the efficiency and effectiveness of compliance. It has allowed CISOs, CTOs and Compliance Managers to achieve quicker and better quality compliance audits. Another added benefit of this integration is that it can keep sensitive cybersecurity information away from personal devices by directly connecting with the Strike Graph platform.

Strike Graph chose to focus its first integration on the most common document repository used by many organizations. The flexibility offered by integrating with Google Drive provides a right-sized solution as opposed to assuming that organizations have separate document repositories. Currently, Strike Graph customers are using this integration to collect 30% of evidence requirements. The solution is typically used to integrate the following types of evidence:

  • HR Policies
  • Cybersecurity Policies
  • Vendor Contracts & NDA’s
  • System Architecture Designs
  • Employment onboard & offboard activity

“When we considered where the bulk of audit evidence is maintained, it was obvious that integrating with Google Drive offers a solution that is relevant to typical evidence. Unlike our competition, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method to compliance. With this feature, our customers can develop any specific policies or procedures and the Strike Graph platform automatically retrieves that evidence over time,” said Justin Beals, CEO and co-founder of Strike Graph.

Strike Graph’s technology helps companies successfully pass their cybersecurity audit. Strike Graph customers can scope the correct size audit, dynamically adjust controls, and successfully complete and maintain security compliance with an internationally recognized auditor.
