About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Hotwire Announces Promotions and New Leaders Amidst Rapid Company Growth

Hotwire, the global tech communications consultancy part of Enero, has hired Stephanie Livingston as Vice President of Finance and Yinka Robinson as Vice President, Client Services; and promoted seasoned B2B leaders, Erin McCabe to Executive Vice President, and Yasmeen Phillips and Kelsey Quickstad to Vice Presidents as company growth continues to accelerate across North America.

“Continuing to expand our depth of talent and expertise is critical to nurturing the culture we’ve built. It allows us to keep pace with industry trends such as the increasing intersection of policy and technology and turn these changes into opportunities,” said Heather Craft, co-president of Hotwire. “We’ve had a very successful year and that’s because of our incredible team. These promotions are a direct reflection of the work our ambitious leaders are doing to solve complex business challenges every day.”

New Leaders Add New Expertise to Support Company Momentum

Stephanie Livingston brings more than 15 years of finance and operations expertise in marketing, advertising, and public relations industries, including roles at Heat Advertising, Camp+King, Venables Bell & Partners, and Resource Interactive. She has spent the past five years as an executive consultant including working with Peet’s Coffee & Tea and Levi Strauss & Company. As part of her new role, Livingston joins the Hotwire North America executive team.

Yinka Robinson’s experience spans strategic communications, public policy, and marketing efforts for the U.S. House of Representatives, Fortune 500 companies, and start-ups. Most recently she served as the Managing Director of Communications and Regional Public Affairs at Teach for America and prior to this, as the External Affairs Manager for Texas Central High-Speed Railway. As the intersection between technology companies and policy makers becomes increasingly high stakes, Robinson will be bringing her insight from working in public affairs to help clients develop the right positioning and profile to set themselves up for success.

Promotions Recognize Stellar Leadership and Impactful Contributions to the Business

Hotwire continues to promote ambitious leaders within the company to support new clients, prospects and expanded services including Erin McCabe who has been promoted to Executive Vice President. McCabe has been an integral part of the Hotwire team for over 20 years, playing several key roles within the company over her tenure and growing Hotwire’s enterprise tech client portfolio including Commvault and Desktop Metal. Yasmeen Phillips has been promoted to Vice President and will continue her role in leading the Hotwire Content Studio along with overseeing top accounts such as McAfee and other large global brands. Kelsey Quickstad has also been promoted to Vice President and will continue her role in expanding the Hotwire presence in the Midwest and leading accounts across key clients including eBay and Forge Global.

This news follows the promotions of Heather Craft and Laura Macdonald to co-presidents of Hotwire North America as Heather Kernahan assumed the role of Hotwire Global CEO.
