About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

RetireOne Bolsters Leadership Team With Key Hires

Bringing more than 55 years of combined industry experience, Tom McNeela and Jeff Cusack join RetireOne as Director of Client Experience and Sr. Managing Director, Strategic Accounts, respectively

RetireOne®, the leading independent platform for fee-based insurance solutions, today announced the appointment of Tom McNeela and Jeff Cusack to two key leadership positions.

Tom McNeela’s 25-year career has included experience as a life insurance and annuity wholesaler, operations back-office leader, and leader at a national sales education team for a Fortune 100 company. In his role as Director of Client Experience, McNeela will bring a persistent focus on the RetireOne mission: providing RIA firms and their clients valuable retirement solutions that are easy to understand, simple to use and delivered with a focus on exceptional client service.

“Contemporary advisors working as fee-only fiduciaries and their clients demand solutions that are flexible, whether they’re focusing on accumulation, protection, or retirement income,” said McNeela. “Every financial life is different and a client’s needs can change in a moment’s notice. Given RetireOne’s growth trajectory, I am excited to bring a new discipline to our approach to client engagement.”

Jeff Cusack has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, and has held leadership positions at JPMorgan, Charles Schwab, Smith Barney’s Consulting Group (now Morgan Stanley) and, most recently, Nuveen Investments. Cusack brings his expertise in product development, marketing, and distribution to RetireOne as their new Sr. Managing Director, Strategic Accounts.

“It is an honor to join this game-changing team,” said Cusack. “RetireOne is pushing the retirement industry in new and exciting directions and I could not pass up the opportunity to join them on this mission.”

“At RetireOne, we are changing the perception of annuities and insurance, one fiduciary advisor at a time,” said David Stone, Co-Founder and CEO, RetireOne. “RetireOne is growing as a company and, as we grow, we need to ensure that we have a leadership team that’s also best-in-class. Adding Tom and Jeff to the team will further RetireOne’s objective of helping financial advisors to tackle America’s retirement crisis head-on, in new and innovative ways.”

McNeela and Cusack join RetireOne on the heels of the launch of Constance, a new, zero-commission contingent deferred annuity created in partnership with Midland National Life Insurance Company. They will build upon and refine RetireOne’s product offerings and continue the firm’s track record of annuity innovation.
