About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Redwire Names Al Tadros Chief Technology Officer

Michael Gold and Dean Bellamy elevated to lead Redwire’s growth strategy

Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW), a leader in mission critical infrastructure for the next generation space economy, today announced the appointment of Al Tadros to Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Tadros was most recently serving as Redwire‘s Chief Growth Officer. This transition significantly strengthens Redwire’s technical culture and ability to take on much larger and more complex technical programs, while also giving an opportunity for Michael Gold, Executive Vice President of Civil and Commercial Space, and Dean Bellamy, Executive Vice President of National Security Space, to expand their roles on the executive team. Gold and Bellamy will now lead Redwire’s growth strategy in their respective markets and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Tadros steps into the CTO role with more than 30 years of experience in the space industry, spending over two decades designing and managing spaceflight missions and gaining extensive experience developing guidance, navigation, control, and robotics systems. He has led significant innovation in next-generation spacecraft design and space infrastructure, integrating robotics and on-orbit satellite manufacturing, servicing, and assembly capabilities. An authority in on-orbit servicing, assembly, and manufacturing, Tadros holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has authored 17 publications and holds five patents in the field of spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control.

“Al’s reputation as a thought leader and innovator across the industry is exceptional, and the respect he has earned across Redwire makes him perfect for this role. His proven success on large, complex space programs will position Redwire to scale our capabilities and take on more high impact, technical programs,” stated Peter Cannito, Redwire’s Chairman and CEO. “Additionally, elevating Mike and Dean significantly strengthens our executive team, and combined with Al, I can’t think of a better trio of talent working together to deliver on the next generation of innovations for Redwire and our industry.”

“I am excited to take on the role of CTO and serve the company in a new capacity as we continue to expand our technology ecosystem and enhance our space technology roadmaps to enable future missions. We are focused on making strategic investments, prioritizing technology development and commercialization, and maintaining a nimble and collaborative culture that fosters cutting-edge innovation,” added Tadros. “I am honored to be working alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry as we continue to deliver world-class solutions for our customers along with developing next-generation capabilities that will transform the future of space infrastructure. I have always been very technical, and this new role gives me a chance to really focus on some high impact emerging opportunities within Redwire. Additionally, I have the utmost confidence and respect for Mike Gold and Dean Bellamy and am extremely excited to work with them on taking Redwire to the next level.”

Tadros succeeded Michael Snyder on May 2, with Snyder transitioning into the role of Technical Fellow, where he will continue to contribute technical expertise to ongoing engineering programs across the company.
