About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Veteran Human Resources Professional and Non-Profit Leader, Tanya Gibson, Joins Funnel Leasing

Funnel Hires Chief People Officer to Embed H.O.M.E. into Company Culture and Elevate Employee Life at Renter Management Software Platform

Funnel Leasing, the only Renter Management Software platform, today announced the hiring of veteran human resources and non-profit leader, Tanya Gibson as Chief People Officer (CPO). As CPO, Tanya will engrain not only Funnel’s P.I.N.K. core values into everything Funnel does, but the mission of their industry-first 501(c)(3) H.O.M.E., Housing Opportunities Made Equal, as well. Funnel created H.O.M.E. to advance their commitment of building responsible technology and supporting causes that provide marginalized renters with access to safe and healthy housing. Gibson is a recent Global Impact Award for Equity in the Workplace winner, and joins Funnel from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America where she most recently served as VP of Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (JEDI) and HR.

“I am confident that Tanya’s vast experience will help Funnel continue to grow its culture and our organization as a model that meets the needs of each of its employees,” said Tyler Christiansen, CEO of Funnel. “Her deep experience with non-profits will help embed H.O.M.E. into our company culture and its impact on those we’ll help, as we launch our online leasing platform to the world.”

Gibson is a champion of inclusive conversations to understand what matters most for Funnel team members, clients, and communities. She will lead Funnel’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) work, as well as build strategies, resources, and scalable processes that celebrate and affirm the uniqueness of Funnel’s diverse workforce.

“DEIB is immensely important to me and how I plan to lead,” said Gibson, Funnel CPO. “By fulfilling these elements, I know that we are partners in creating a sense of belonging for all who interact with Funnel and the products, services, and resources we provide. I have the added bonus of getting to perform all of these actions with an incredible team, who also believe in strong people operations to support these efforts that positively model Funnel’s DEIB ethos.”

About Funnel Leasing

Funnel exists so multifamily operators don't have to pick between antiquated monopolies or single solution challengers. After decades of the status quo, operators are no more efficient, and renters still dread the process of leasing an apartment. We fixed that with a platform that turns the entire business model on its head. Renter Management Software is a new category of connected tools built around the renter. The software delivers a consistent, connected experience from first inquiry through years of renewals. All this while simultaneously saving operators quantifiable money through the smaller, and happier teams that only a renter-centric platform can enable.

About H.O.M.E. (Housing Opportunities Made Equal)

Funnel is dedicated to fair housing for all. We created H.O.M.E. to advance our commitment of building responsible technology and supporting causes that provide marginalized renters with access to safe and healthy housing. Through our actions, we strive to identify and combat the systemic oppression prevalent throughout the leasing process that results in limited housing access for individuals of color and other marginalized home seekers. Every online application completed through our platform generates a $1 donation on behalf of H.O.M.E. that is used toward ending housing discrimination and increasing economic opportunity through housing.
