About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Now More Than Ever Americans Are Open To Exploring Their Sexuality, Hims & Hers’ Nationwide Survey Uncovers The Realities Of Sex In America Today

“Let’s Talk About Sex: The 2022 Report” Reveals 72% Express An Interest In New Sex Trends, 79% Changed Sexual Behaviors Since The Overturning Of Roe v. Wade

Hims & Hers Health, Inc. (“Hims & Hers”, NYSE: HIMS), the trusted consumer-first platform focused on providing modern, personalized health and wellness experiences to consumers, is today releasing its first annual “Let’s Talk About Sex: The 2022 Report.” For how popular a topic sex is—online searches for “sex” yield nearly 11 billion results, 1.5X more results than people on Earth—a third of Americans say most of their sex education comes from pornography. The 2022 Report serves as a new educational resource, designed to uncover behaviors, trends, fears, fantasies and realities about sex in America.

Now More Than Ever Americans Are Open To Exploring Their Sexuality, Hims & Hers’ Nationwide Survey Uncovers The Realities Of Sex In America Today (Graphic: Business Wire)

The Report compiles responses from a nationally representative survey of Americans and reveals information such as:

  • While 22% chose “more sex” will improve their sex lives, the majority of people (72%), express an interest in sex trends they haven’t tried (Roleplay among the top).
  • 75% of America assumes other people have sex once a week or more; whereas only about half of Americans actually do.
  • 79% of Americans have changed at least one behavior surrounding sex—from more proactively educating their children about sex to having less sex themselves—because of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
  • Half of America (including 50% of men and 47% of women) say it takes more than 10 minutes to reach an orgasm, with the average coming in at 14.09 minutes.
  • 42% of America worries that if they don’t have frequent sex with their partner, their partner will cheat on them.
  • Gen Z women are the most sexually exploratory demographic, with 42% not identifying as heterosexual, and 75% being interested in one or more emerging sexual trends—more than 2X as interested as older women.
  • Nearly as many Gen Z women have watched porn alone in the past year (39%) as have Gen Z men (43%), whereas only 8% of Boomer women have watched porn alone in the past year compared to 51% of Boomer men.
  • Half of men (53%) say porn has changed their perception of how long they should last and how erect their penis should be, and an equal 53% say porn has changed their perception of sex altogether.
  • 63% of women—and about half (48%) of women 45 and older—are interested in a new or emerging sex trend; and 1 in 3 women (34%) say that if there were no societal norms, their sex life would be very different.
  • 63% of America agrees with the statement, “My overall quality of life would improve if my sex life improved.”

“Our brand was founded on a strong belief in open and honest discussions about sexual health,” said Hilary Coles, co-founder and SVP of Brand & Innovation, Hims & Hers. “Talking about sex is still stigmatized, and tiptoeing around the topic only reinforces feelings of shame and embarrassment. In speaking with our customers and researching what information is available to the masses, we realized there is a clear need for a source of truth when it comes to sex in America. We carefully crafted this survey to ensure the findings would not only educate people about the realities of sex today, but also enable them to have more control and confidence when it comes to their sex life. Today, we’re celebrating people and sexuality in all of its forms and encouraging a positive dialogue about our experiences and curiosities.”

The “Let’s Talk About Sex Report” provides a clear baseline on how Americans are having and thinking about sex today, dually serving as a source to educate people about the topic and combat related fears and misconceptions. Leveraging national data and the knowledge of experts within the space, Hims & Hers has been able to identify and dispel nine sex-related myths about hot topics like how much sex people want to have, when male sexual dysfunction occurs, women and fake orgasms, and the effects of the pandemic on our sex lives.

Shedding llight on behaviors and emerging cultural trends, The Report was created with, and includes insights from, notable experts within the sexual health and wellness space:

  • Dr. Peter Stahl, SVP of Men’s Sexual Health and Urology at Hims & Hers
  • Dr. Denise Asafu-Adjei, Urologist and Medical Advisory Board Member, Hims & Hers

Survey Methodology

The “Let’s Talk About Sex: The 2022 Report” is based on results from a 5,234-person online survey, conducted in April 2022, of 4,500 nationally representative1 adults between 18 and 65 years old and 734 Hims & Hers customers, across all 50 states. In addition, a separate, 2,000-person nationally representative survey among 18- to 65-year-olds was conducted in July 2022 to address attitudes toward sexual and reproductive rights after the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Findings were analyzed using 40 different demographic and psychographic cuts, including gender (when we refer to “women” and “men,” we include all people who self-identify as such), age, region, race and ethnicity, relationship status, and sexual orientation (heterosexual, bisexual, gay, lesbian, pansexual, asexual, queer, etc.), among other areas of interest.2 In-depth trends research and a series of interviews with 8 experts in sexual psychology, health, and education further informed findings for this report.

All data and quotes in this study are from these sources, unless otherwise noted. Hims & Hers engaged Independent research firm Culture Co-op to conduct and analyze research and findings.
