Earns Equality 100 Award from Human Rights Campaign Foundation

The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV) today announced it has once again received a score of 100 on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), earning the Equality 100 Award and named a Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion. Administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the CEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.

“Diversity and inclusion is core to who we are, and it’s an honor to be recognized for our efforts,” said Dr. Lauren Young, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Travelers. “We’re dedicated to creating a culture that encourages everyone to share their perspectives and where all employees can thrive.”

Travelers supports several programs designed to promote an inclusive culture, including:

  • Diversity Networks: The company has 10 Diversity Networks, which are voluntary groups led by employees who are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. These groups help with the retention, development and success of employees through networking, mentorship and volunteer opportunities.
  • A Conscious Inclusion Workshop: All employees are expected to complete this education program that explores biases and their impact in the workplace, as well as how to be more intentionally inclusive.
  • An Inclusive Leadership Performance Objective: All managers’ annual performance expectations have an inclusion-related objective that aims to purposefully foster a work environment where all employees are included and engaged. Employees who are not in managerial roles may also add this objective to their performance goals.
  • A “Diversity Speaks” Series: The company sponsors events that are designed to create a culture that supports diversity through allyship, cultural competence and inclusive leadership. These events feature employees and external guest speakers who share personal stories and provide different experiences and viewpoints.
