About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

ManageEngine User Conferences Return to the United States

Chicago to Host First Event of 2023; Similar Events Planned for Dallas and Orlando Later in the Year

ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, today announced that it is bringing back its User Conference to the United States after a three-year absence. The company will be hosting its customer event at the Marriot Southwest in Burr Ridge, Chicago, on May 9-10, 2023.

ManageEngine User Conferences are the company's largest annual events, bringing together regional customers and partners. The upcoming Chicago conference will be the first of the three events planned in the United States in 2023, with similar events scheduled in Dallas and Orlando later this year. The last conference in the country was held in 2019 in Dallas.

"Many of our customers not only survived the pandemic but thrived, and their IT teams played a vital role in their success,” said Rajesh Ganesan, president at ManageEngine. “We’re pleased that ManageEngine helped these customers navigate through tough times. And now, after a long break, we look forward to meeting them again at live, in-person events that offer multiple avenues for learning, networking and community building.”

Conference to Focus on Digital Enterprises

The two-day event will be opened with a keynote speech by Ganesan. His address will be followed by David Brodeur-Johnson, principal analyst at Forrester, who will present A CIO's guide to employee experience and the future of work. There will also be a panel discussion, The future of digital enterprises and the role of IT, which will involve senior IT leaders from three ManageEngine customers.

The second day will see Helen Yu, CEO of Tigon Advisory Corp., talk about achieving cyber resilience in the 21st century. Ramprakash Ramamoorthy, director of research at ManageEngine, will then share ManageEngine's vision of AI-empowered IT management.

Participants will be able to attend technical workshops and gain knowledge on the latest trends and how to overcome their IT management challenges. There will be separate sessions focusing on IT security, identity and access management, IT service management, IT operations management and unified endpoint management.

Participants can get their product-related queries resolved through one-on-one interactions with company experts at dedicated stands. They will get information on newly added features and advancements in ManageEngine's broad suite of solutions. The company's identity security solution, ADSelfService Plus, recently rolled out an offline MFA feature for Windows. The MSSP edition of Log360 Cloud, ManageEngine's SIEM solution, was launched last month. Participants can also obtain certification at the event by showing their expertise on ManageEngine solutions.
