About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

ERI Named to Arizona Recycling Coalition

By: via Business Wire

ERI, the nation’s largest fully integrated IT and electronics asset disposition (ITAD) provider and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company, announced today that it has officially been named a member of the Arizona Recycling Coalition.

Known as the state’s premier recycling organization, the Arizona Recycling Coalition (AzRC) is dedicated to promoting waste reduction, reuse and recycling efforts through education, outreach, networking and strong partnerships. The AzRC recognizes the continued importance of recycling, and is dedicated to making a difference for the future of Arizona.

The organization is made up of members who have joined from a broad variety of industries and sectors, including private, public, government, non-profit, and education, and it continues to grow throughout the state and the region. In addition to quarterly meetings and an annual conference, the AzRC awards grants and scholarships each year to help promote innovation in reuse, reduction, and recycling.

Earlier this year, due to steadily continued growth, ERI opened its newest recycling facility in Goodyear, Arizona (near Phoenix) marking the company’s 13th operational location and ninth full-scale recycling facility.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to be welcomed as members alongside other great recycling organizations at the Arizona Recycling Coalition,” said ERI’s Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO, John Shegerian. “We’re proud to be bringing carbon neutral, state-of-the-art ITAD and electronics recycling services to the great state of Arizona. It makes perfect sense to team with likeminded organizations in the region with a shared sustainability and circular economy mission.”

“On behalf of the Arizona Recycling Coalition, I would like to welcome ERI to Arizona and to our recycling community,” said Terry Gellenbeck, Chair of the Arizona Recycling Coalition. “We believe that ERI will provide a vital service to the West Valley and the entire state in the world of electronics recycling.”

With its longstanding dedication to ESG, ERI is the recipient of an overall “A” rating (the highest grade ever awarded to a company in ERI’s industry) from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Circulytics tool, which measures progress towards a circular economy.

ERI is the largest fully integrated IT and electronics asset disposition provider and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company in the United States. ERI is certified at the highest level by all leading environmental and data security oversight organizations to de-manufacture, recycle, and refurbish every type of electronic device in an environmentally responsible manner. It is the first and only company in its industry to achieve carbon neutrality at all its facilities nationwide, and the first to achieve SOC 2 certification for security and data protection. ERI has the capacity to process more than a billion pounds of electronic waste annually at its nine certified locations, serving every zip code in the United States. ERI’s mission is to protect people, the planet and privacy. For more information about e-waste recycling and ERI, call 1-800-ERI-DIRECT or visit https://eridirect.com.
