About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

SecurityScorecard Achieves AWS Level 1 Managed Security Service Provider Competency Status

Security Ratings Leader is the First SaaS Provider to Achieve Competency in Business Continuity and Ransomware Readiness Specification Category

SecurityScorecard, the global security ratings, response, and resilience company, today announced at AWS re:Inforce 2023, it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Level 1 Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) Competency status. SecurityScorecard is the first Software as a Service (SaaS) provider to achieve AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency status in the Business Continuity and Ransomware Readiness specification category and the third in the Digital Forensics and Incident Response category.

SecurityScorecard has successfully met AWS’s requirements for a baseline of managed security services to protect and monitor essential AWS resources 24/7, known as AWS Level 1 MSS baseline. AWS introduced this new baseline standard of quality for managed security services to benefit cloud environments of any size and spans six security domains.

“Organizations operating in cloud environments need to safeguard against the escalating threat of ransomware and mitigate risk to ensure the security of their business,” said Larry Slusser, vice president, and global head of professional services delivery at SecurityScorecard. “SecurityScorecard helps AWS customers achieve their business transformation goals securely, with the confidence they can respond quickly and effectively in the event of an attack.”

AWS launched the AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency to allow customers to easily acquire ongoing security monitoring and management, validated by AWS. AWS security experts annually validate the tools and operational processes of each MSSP to address specific cloud security challenges such as continuous event monitoring, triaging, AWS service configuration best practices, and 24/7 incident response. The AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency provides a faster and seamless experience for customers to select the right MSSP to help them achieve their goals for business risk and cloud strategy confidence.

SecurityScorecard research shows organizations that receive an ‘A’ rating are 7.7 times less likely to suffer a cyber incident than F-rated organizations. By leveraging SecurityScorecard’s platform, Score Guarantee, and Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) capabilities, customers can trust that they are armed with the insights needed to make essential risk decisions in the face of cyber attacks to maintain business continuity. SecurityScorecard’s world-class incident response team offers the 24/7 guidance required if a cyber incident occurs, helps customers follow established guidelines, and regularly works with law enforcement agencies to support any legal proceedings.

AWS enables scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support these solutions’ seamless integration and deployment, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify AWS Partners with deep industry experience and expertise.
