About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

CallRail to Reveal Conversation Intelligence® Breakthroughs at INBOUND 2023

The AI-powered lead intelligence platform will also spotlight its long-standing HubSpot partnership

Fresh off the launch of its most advanced AI-powered product, Premium Conversation IntelligenceTM, CallRail is going big at INBOUND 2023. In addition to hosting a thought-inspiring education session, the company will preview upcoming products and features designed to help businesses of all sizes market and sell with greater confidence.

"HubSpot pioneered inbound marketing,” said Marc Ginsberg, CEO of CallRail. “CallRail plays a critical role in ensuring their customers can easily track and act on their highest intent and value inbound callers. There is no better place than INBOUND to celebrate our partnership with HubSpot and no better time to share our latest innovations.”

Joining Ginsberg September 5–8 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center are other members of the CallRail leadership team, including Chief Product Officer Ryan Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer Masami Middleton, Chief Revenue Officer Marius Smyth, VP of Product Jason Tatum, and VP of Partnerships Mike Stocker.

Education session to reveal “what 100M phone calls reveal about data-driven marketing

Customer calls contain a goldmine of untapped intelligence. In their September 6 education session, CallRail CMO Masami Middleton and CPO Ryan Johnson will explain how to easily extract them with advanced AI.

“At CallRail, we’ve been using AI to transcribe calls, automate lead follow-up, and surface insights from conversations since 2016. Today, we’re gleaning insights that were impossible even a few months ago,” said Middleton.

“During our INBOUND education session, Ryan and I will describe how an advanced AI model, trained on more than a million hours of speech, can analyze calls with greater speed, accuracy, and reliability than humans. We’ll also share real-world, practical examples that demonstrate how conversation intelligence is helping businesses improve lead conversion, customer satisfaction, agent performance, and marketing effectiveness.”

Middleton and Johnson will also present the latest releases from CallRail Labs. The first of its kind in the call analytics space, CallRail Labs is where customers experiment with new product capabilities and help shape the future of CallRail’s most advanced products.

The session occurs Wednesday, September 6, at 2:15 PM ET. Reserve your spot in the INBOUND Mobile App.

HubSpot partnership: sharing success

A premiere call analytics solution for HubSpot users, CallRail recently surpassed 3,000 integration installs through the HubSpot App Marketplace. “This is a significant milestone for CallRail,” says Mike Stocker, VP of Partnerships at CallRail. “Our vision is to help every business market with confidence. The depth of the HubSpot ecosystem gets us much closer to realizing it.”

Digital marketing agency Neon Goldfish used HubSpot’s integration with CallRail to generate more qualified leads, avoid wasting time and money on leads coming from irrelevant search terms, and prevent voicemails from leads being lost. The Neon Goldfish team also reduced spam calls by 80 percent.

SmartBug, a HubSpot Elite solutions partner, leverages the power of CallRail’s HubSpot integration for their customers to track the end-to-end success of client sales and marketing efforts. The agency’s CEO, Jen Spencer, and Datawarehouse.io Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, James Elmer, will join Stocker for an INBOUND Partner Day panel.

Moderated by Asher Matthew, CEO of Partnership Leaders, the panel will share proven HubSpot partner ecosystem strategies that can drive millions in revenue and expand customer bases. It takes place on Tuesday, September 5, at 2:45 PM ET.

Experience the “Art of the Conversation” at the CallRail Conversation Station

Located next to the HubSpot Heroes stage, the CallRail Conversation Station is where INBOUND attendees can relax and recharge. It’s also an immersive art gallery featuring seven original works of art commissioned exclusively for INBOUND audiences. Strolling through the gallery, visitors will experience creative interpretations of the state of the phone call, from customer preferences to the latest achievements in AI-enabled analysis.

Conversation Station guests can also snap selfies with our interactive mural, turn themselves into works of art in CallRail’s AI photo booth, watch AI transcribe and analyze famous calls from TV shows and movies, and register to win a Samsung QLED 4K Frame TV.

“We want INBOUND attendees to think differently about the value of human interactions via phone calls,” said Ginsberg. “Call data contains business-building insights and sentiment that AI easily interprets, summarizes, and makes actionable. Through Conversation Intelligence and our HubSpot integration, we’re democratizing access to those insights so businesses of all sizes can boost marketing effectiveness, agent performance, and lead conversion."
