HCLTech Invites Applications for the Second Edition of Its $1 Million Grant for Climate Action in the Americas

As part of its commitment to helping build a sustainable planet, HCLTech, a leading global technology company, today announced the second edition of HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas program.

Building on the great response from edition 1, HCLTech will give additional $1 million in grants this year again to three non-government organizations (NGOs) combatting climate change and restoring biodiversity across 10 countries in the Americas in its edition 2. The application portal is now open inviting applications starting October 24 to December 20 from all eligible countries - Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru and the US. The names of the recipients will be announced on June 5, 2025.

“We received an enthusiastic response to the first edition of the Americas Grant and were highly impressed by the innovative project entries. We are proud to support some of these programs and look forward to engaging with NGO partners undertaking ground-breaking work to combat climate change,” said Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President, Global CSR, HCLTech.

HCLTech launched the Americas program in 2023 with a commitment of $5 million in grants over five years to support scalable, replicable and sustainable solutions to fight the climate crisis the world is facing today. Not-for-profit organizations from the listed countries in the Americas are eligible to apply for the grant for their climate action programs aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Brazil-based Argilando, Canada-based No. 9 Contemporary Art and the Environment and US-based The Longleaf Alliance were the three recipients of the inaugural edition of the HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas.

With a total investment of over $175 million in corporate social responsibility programs globally so far, HCLTech and its CSR arm, HCLFoundation, have helped transform over 6.5 million lives, brought 72,000 acres of land under green governance and harvested 81 billion liters of water. HCLTech replenished 32X water it consumed across its India operations in FY24 and 98% of its buildings have received the highest ratings from Green Building Councils. In the US, through its collaborations with non-profits, including Feeding America and One Tree Planted, HCLTech has continuously demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility and sustainability.

Several global agencies have recognized HCLTech’s sustainability achievements. It has been rated AA in the MSCI ESG ratings, A- by CDP for climate change actions and included in S&P Sustainability Yearbook for the past two years.
