About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

These new Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club locations follow existing U.S. lounge locations and access points for Sapphire Reserve Cardmembers in New York City (LGA and JFK) and Boston (BOS). Cardmembers also have access to the Etihad Airways Lounge in Washington, D.C. (IAD).

CHASE SAPPHIRE LOUNGE BY THE CLUB at PHOENIX SKY HARBOR

Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at PHX is in Terminal 4 South 1 (S1) Concourse. The lounge is highlighted by panoramic views of the tarmac through the lounge’s ribbon window. The new space features a centerpiece bar with craft cocktails and stylish seating within the space as well as its indoor “patio” offering on the airport’s concourse. The lounge also features a retrofitted Airstream food truck featuring a curated menu from local standout Phoenix restaurant, the larder & the delta. Offerings in the space include Press Coffee, an Arizona-based specialty coffee roaster, and a curated wine list from Parcelle, one of the country’s most renowned wine retailers.

Arizona-based artist Timmy Ham (SLOTH) hand painted the license plates for the space’s Airstream and created a custom design for an exclusive complimentary luggage tag as a complimentary gift for visiting Reserve cardmembers, made in collaboration with Solgaard. Ham’s designs draw inspiration from the dramatic Southwest landscape.

CHASE SAPPHIRE LOUNGE BY THE CLUB at SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL

Continuing Chase Sapphire’s dedication to building spaces reflective of their locale, the forthcoming San Diego lounge offers a unique aesthetic for an airport lounge experience. With surfboards designed by local muralist Hanna Daly and a digital wall, which displays drone footage of the remarkable San Diego coastline, travelers will feel right at home in this Southern California-inspired space.

Located in Terminal 2, the more than 10,000 square-foot space offers a wellness area with bookable private rest pods, on-demand digital meditations from Devi Brown and facial treatments from Face Haus. Cardmembers will be able to order a la carte from a curated menu by Oscars Mexican Seafood – a local destination for fresh, flavorful San Diego dishes – and coffee selections from California’s Groundwork Coffee. The San Diego lounge will also feature curated wines from Parcelle.

CHASE SAPPHIRE RESERVE LOUNGE AT ARIA RESORT & CASINO IN LAS VEGAS

Opening on November 16, Las Vegas’ ARIA Resort & Casino will host a special limited-time lounge pop-up experience for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers. This new Las Vegas lounge will feature food from celebrated restaurant Momofuku, and cocktails from Los Angeles and New York-based speakeasy, Apotheke.

“When we opened our first domestic lounge, we were clear that expanding our footprint and elevating the on-trip experience for our Sapphire Reserve cardmembers was a priority,” said Dana Pouwels, Head of Airport Lounge Benefits at Chase. “Our openings in Phoenix and San Diego, in addition to the expansion of lounge access in locations where our customers live and travel, continues along our goal of delivering this highly sought after benefit.”

Chase Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve and The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card primary cardmembers and authorized users with their activated complimentary Priority Pass™ membership have lounge access.
