About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

She brings to Operation HOPE more than 30 years of experience as a financial leader, most recently as CEO of City National Bank and, previously, as CEO of J.P. Morgan’s U.S. private bank. Ms. Coffey has been widely recognized for her leadership, including as an Entertainment Business Visionary by Los Angeles Times B2B Publishing (2024), Diversity, Inclusion and Equity CEO of the Year by the Los Angeles Business Journal (2021), CEO of the Year by Los Angeles Times B2B Publishing, one of the Most Powerful Women in New York by Crain’s New York Business, and one of Los Angeles’ 500 most influential leaders by the Los Angeles Business Journal. She has been named to American Banker’s list of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking several times, as well as to the publication’s list of Most Powerful Women in Finance.

She joins a distinguished Board that includes some of the country’s top executives in business, banking, technology, and the non-profit sector. “Kelly has built her distinguished career on a high caliber of leadership and client service and a commitment to strengthening communities,” said John Hope Bryant, Operation HOPE Founder, Chairman and CEO. “Her track record of client-centric leadership at City National and her expertise in building committed teams and driving organizational growth will be invaluable to Operation HOPE as we continue to grow our reach in bringing financial literacy to all communities.”

“Operation HOPE does incredible work to advance economic opportunity through financial education and literacy,” said Ms. Coffey. “I look forward to helping them expand on these efforts and level the playing field for even more individuals, families and small business owners.”

About Operation HOPE, Inc.

Since 1992, Operation HOPE has been moving America from civil rights to "silver rights" with the mission of making free enterprise and capitalism work for the underserved—disrupting poverty for millions of low and moderate-income youth and adults across the nation. Through its community uplift model, HOPE Inside, which received the 2016 Innovator of the Year recognition by American Banker magazine, Operation HOPE has served more than 4 million individuals and directed more than $3.2 billion in economic activity into disenfranchised communities—turning check-cashing customers into banking customers, renters into homeowners, small business dreamers into small business owners, minimum wage workers into living wage consumers, and uncertain disaster victims into financially empowered disaster survivors.
