Emily Dawkins Named as Florida President of Ameris Bank

Ameris Bank announced today that Emily Dawkins has joined the company as Florida president of Ameris Bank. In this role, Dawkins will be responsible for the continued development and expansion of Ameris Bank’s presence throughout Florida, while also accelerating the bank’s commitment to commercial and individual customers through its expansive commercial lending, treasury and traditional banking offerings. Dawkins replaces Brian Parks, who has been promoted to head of Wholesale Banking at Ameris.

Dawkins was most recently regional president of North Florida at Truist, where she gained 20 years of experience progressing through several positions. She completed the Commercial Associate Program at SunTrust and served as a Commercial relationship manager in Jacksonville and as a Capital Markets originator covering the state of Florida.

“Emily is a results-driven business leader who is passionate about developing strong customer relationships,” said Lawton Bassett, president of Ameris Bank. “She brings broad banking experience, along with deep ties and commitment to the Florida community.”

Dawkins is currently on the Baptist Medical Center South Board and serves as communications chair of ReThreaded’s Circle of Sisters. Previously, she served with the Jacksonville Civic Council, North Florida Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a minor in Spanish from the University of Florida.
