About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Antares Bolsters Private Wealth Team with Three New Senior Appointments

30+ Years of Collective Experience to Strengthen Antares’ Efforts to Drive Distribution of Alternative Investments to Private Wealth

Antares Capital (“Antares”), a leading alternative asset manager with more than $69B in capital under management and administration, today announced three new senior hires to support the expansion of the firm’s private wealth strategy.

“The private wealth community is increasingly seeking alternative investments to diversify their portfolios, reduce volatility and improve performance, so we are thrilled to welcome these industry experts to meet this growing demand and offer access to investments typically reserved for large institutional investors,” said Vivek Mathew, Head of Asset Management at Antares. “Wealth management is a growing focus for Antares, and we are excited to expand access to our products among this investor segment.”

The three appointed executives include:

  • Brian Daley – Senior Vice President/Advisor Consultant, Wealth Solutions. Mr. Daley brings more than a decade of experience serving the wealth management channel. Most recently, he was at CAIS, where he led coverage and supported alternative investment allocations for Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), Family Offices and Trust Companies. Prior to CAIS, Mr. Daley held roles at BlackRock/iShares, BNY Mellon/Dreyfus and Lord Abbett. He received his B.S. in Finance and Economics from the University of Delaware.
  • William Hershon – Senior Vice President/Advisor Consultant, Wealth Solutions. Mr. Hershon most recently worked as a Vice President at CAIS, where he consulted with RIAs, Family Offices and Independent Broker-Dealers (IBDs) on alternative investments. Prior to CAIS, he worked as a Global Wealth Management and Portfolio Analytics Group Specialist at PIMCO. Mr. Hershon received his B.S. in Economics from The Pennsylvania State University.
  • Marc Rappaport – Senior Vice President/Advisor Consultant, Wealth Solutions. Marc spent the last four years as the Chief Executive Officer of DCM Advisors, where he scaled the business and its services to institutions, RIAs, Family Offices and High-Net-Worth Individuals. Prior to DCM Advisors, he led the retail business development effort at Alpine Funds, in addition to holding roles at Pioneer Investments and Prudential Investments. He received his B.A. in Journalism from New York University.

All three executives will report to Jack Snyder, Managing Director, Head of U.S. Wealth Solutions, and will play a critical role in accelerating Antares’ efforts to reach the private wealth channel and strengthen the firm’s commitment to making its alternative products more accessible to a broader investor base.

“The collective experience of Brian, William and Marc at the intersection of wealth management and alternative investments will play a critical role in building out our footprint in the wealth channel,” said Snyder. “As a leading alternative investment manager, we believe Antares is well-poised to capitalize on this growing demand and provide access to asset classes that have historically been out of reach for these investors.”
