About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Laser Photonics and Incredible Supply & Logistics Co-Host Exhibit Booth at NCMS Technology Showcase at Norfolk Naval Shipyard

Laser Photonics Corporation (LPC) (NASDAQ: LASE), a leading global developer of industrial laser systems for cleaning and other material processing applications, joins Incredible Supply & Logistics (ISL), an award-winning product distribution, mission kitting, and third-party logistics company specializing in supporting federal government customers and defense contractors as well as serving the maritime and space communities, in co-hosting an exhibit booth at the NCMS Technology Showcase at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY).

The Technology Showcase is an annual event that NNSY hosts in partnership with the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), providing a platform for contractors and civilians to demonstrate or seek out innovative technologies and prospective solutions for the maritime industry. The showcase presents a venue for NNSY leadership, engineers, maintenance personnel and production management teams to collaborate on developing customized solutions that meet the shipyard's specific needs.

"Laser Photonics' laser systems offer advanced solutions for the naval and defense industry that meet military standards," said Wayne Tupuola, CEO of Laser Photonics. "We're excited to exhibit side-by-side with our partner, Incredible Supply & Logistics, and demonstrate to fleet professionals how they can benefit from using our technologies that are engineered at the convergence of laser technology and robotics."

What: 2024 NCMS Technology Showcase: Norfolk Naval Shipyard

When: May 21 – 23, 2024

Where: Training Facility (NNSY Building 1763, Portsmouth, VA 23709)

Booth: 19

At the NCMS Technology Showcase at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Laser Photonics and ISL are presenting a selection of laser systems, including LPC's MARLIN LPC-100M-MHD, a novel technology targeting the needs of maritime industry professionals, and the CleanTech LPC-2000-CTHD.

Naval professionals will have the chance to learn how LPC's technology can help with rust control, corrosion and coating removal, optimizing MRO processes and streamlining inventory maintenance. LPC will also talk about its full portfolio of industrial-grade laser systems for material processing.

CleanTech Laser Blasting Technology

CleanTech Laser Blasting products by Laser Photonics provide industry professionals with eco-friendly, cost-effective and time-efficient systems that are utilized for industrial cleaning. Applications include rust removal, paint removal, surface preparation and more. Laser cleaning removes paint, contaminants, rust and residues with a high-energy laser beam which leaves the substrate untouched. This technology is an excellent alternative to traditional cleaning methods like sandblasting, dry ice blasting and other abrasive blasting techniques.

MARLIN Laser Cleaning Technology

The MARLIN LPC-100M-MHD is a pulse laser system, perfect for small craft marine vessel applications. The equipment’s portable design lends itself to laser cleaning and surface treatment on small areas requiring delicate cleaning, de-painting and other surface preparation operations. The MARLIN product line helps industry professionals tackle their corrosion challenges while saving them time and money.
