About Cabling Installation & Maintenance:

Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals.

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on:

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Tanium customers Benesse Holdings, JTB, Minebea Mitsumi, Sekisui House, YKK AP, Inc. and more will join partners NEC and CTC to showcase how they have successfully consolidated disparate security solutions by leveraging the award-winning XEM platform to reduce the costs, risks, and silos associated with outdated approaches. As the region continues to experience expansion, attendees will get a firsthand look at why the most security conscious organizations in Japan trust Tanium to secure their most valuable assets.

During this year’s Converge Tokyo event, participants will gain insight from various Tanium executives including Chief Executive Officer Dan Streetman, Chief Technology Officer Matt Quinn, and Chief Marketing Officer Steve Daheb. “At Converge Tokyo, we will explore how the Tanium XEM platform proactively safeguards data and assets in a dynamic cyber security environment from various angles, including the latest autonomous features,” said Koji Komatsu, Asia North Technical Account Management Area Vice President. “We are delighted to have local Tanium customers take the stage to share how their operations have benefited using the Tanium XEM platform. We also look forward to demonstrating the power of our partnerships with ServiceNow and Microsoft and how they can enhance the value of the XEM platform.”

Tanium Automate

Tanium Automate, the no-code automation and orchestration workflow experience, will be showcased by Chief Technology Officer Matt Quinn and VP of AI Harman Kaur. This feature, which is now available in private preview for Tanium Cloud users, enables IT and Security teams to automate frequent tasks, whether they are simple or complex. Teams can build custom playbooks from the UI to reduce operational impact and automate recurring tasks such as patching, application deployments, vulnerability remediations, unused software license reclamation, and more. By creating and linking a series of Tanium Action Steps into logical, repeatable sequences, called playbooks, common tasks can run automatically or with user interaction and oversight.

At Converge World Tour Tokyo, attendees can also:

  • Familiarize themselves with Tanium Guardian as they’re guided by Tanium’s Director of Endpoint Security Research Melissa Bischoping.
  • Explore hands on lab sessions focusing on patching, software maintenance, and unmasking vulnerabilities with Tanium solutions including SBOM, Comply, and DEX.
  • Engage speakers during a dedicated event prior to their sessions.
  • See cutting-edge partner solution demonstrations in the exhibition booth area sponsored by NTT Communications, Macnica, Techmatrix and NEC.
  • Attend a special session focusing on the next-generation automation platform enabled by Tanium IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Tanium Vulnerability Risk and Compliance (VRC) for ServiceNow.
