About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Colgate Women’s Games Returns for 49th Season

On Global Running Day, the Nation’s Longest-Running Indoor Track & Field Series for Girls and Women Announces Its Return Indoors this November

Today on Global Running Day, Colgate-Palmolive Company announced that Colgate Women’s Games, the nation's longest-running indoor Track & Field series for girls and women, will kick off its 49th Season in November 2024, marking a triumphant return to indoor competition. After seasons 47 and 48 moved to an outdoor competition due to the pandemic, this year’s Games will return indoors, taking place at The Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York City. Athletes, parents, coaches, and fans can sign up to receive updates about registration for the 49th Season at www.ColgateWomensGames.com.

“We are thrilled that Colgate Women’s Games is back indoors and returning to the roots of our historic competition,” said Cheryl Toussaint, world-class championship medalist and Meet Director, Colgate Women’s Games. “The indoor track & field season is a crucial part of development for athletes who train in cold climates, as it offers them the opportunity to hone their skills in a controlled environment. For decades, Colgate Women’s Games has fostered talented leaders both on and off the track and inspired thousands of female athletes with a focus on mentorship and creating educational pathways that can lead to brighter and healthier futures; I know the 49th Season will build on our legacy of helping the next generation of girls and women to achieve their dreams.”

With the long-standing support of title sponsor Colgate-Palmolive, participating athletes have the opportunity to win one of more than 100 education scholarships awarded by the Company each year, in $2,000, $1,000, and $500 denominations based on order of finish in the finals. Colgate-Palmolive covers all costs of Colgate Women’s Games, allowing athletes to participate and their family and friends to attend at no cost.

Celebrated annually on the first Wednesday in June, Global Running Day encourages people of all ages and abilities to stay active while serving as a reminder of the positive benefits that running has on physical, mental, and emotional health -- an ethos similarly shared by Colgate Women’s Games.

“As we celebrate the significance of Global Running Day, we also recognize that Colgate Women’s Games is more than just a competition; it’s a testament to the power of sport, mentorship, and education to advance the health and wellbeing of all people – and reflects on our Company’s purpose and values of being Caring, Inclusive, and Courageous,” said Sally Massey, Chief Human Resources Officer, Colgate-Palmolive. “The Colgate Women’s Games community cares about each other, welcomes one another with open arms, and supports girls and women as they courageously pursue their dreams. We are incredibly proud of our nearly 50 years of support for this tight-knit community, and look forward to cheering our athletes on.”
