About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

InvoiceCloud Announces New Leadership, Customer Momentum, and More as Independent Company

InvoiceCloud, a leading solution for digital bill payment services, announced a new leadership team and a strong first half of 2024 with customer wins and engagement as the company enters its next stage of growth. Formerly part of the EngageSmart brand, a provider of vertically tailored customer engagement software and integrated payments solutions that was acquired by Vista Equity Partners in January of this year, InvoiceCloud is now operating as an independent company focused on maximizing its growth opportunity.

The company appointed Kevin O’Brien to Chief Executive Officer. O’Brien joined EngageSmart as President of InvoiceCloud and enterprise solutions in 2022. Prior to that, he was Divisional General Manager of PTC’s PLM business and, before that, led a series of growth initiatives at PTC and Oracle, respectively.

InvoiceCloud also welcomed Chief Financial Officer Chris Sands, who joins the company with 20 years of diverse finance experience. Most recently, Sands served as CFO of digital health company IntelyCare and, prior to that, as CFO of MineralTree, a software and payments business. Jessi Marcoff also joined as Chief People Officer. Marcoff recently served as Chief People Officer for BentoBox and led the people function through an acquisition with Fiserv.

InvoiceCloud provides best-in-class digital payment solutions to some of the nation’s largest utility companies, municipal tax collectors, and insurance carriers including San Jose Water Company, the City of Clearwater, FL, EmPRO Insurance Company, Georgia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company, and the City of Escondido, CA. Key to the company’s success is its easy-to-use digital payment and engagement platform with solutions that improve the customer experience and provide automatic enhancements to help augment security and keep the technology up to date without the need for time-consuming upgrades. These solutions include mobile and text capabilities that help drive on-time payments and better customer satisfaction, self-service account management, and a sophisticated communications engine that can be customized for use case and industry.

InvoiceCloud boasts a 97% customer retention rate, a further testament to the company’s product leadership and customer-centric ethos. Most recently, InvoiceCloud has been instrumental in helping customers better understand the behaviors of their digitally reluctant bill payers and convert these populations (specifically those 55+, the unbanked, check writers, and non-English speakers) to adopt digital, self-service payments. According to recent research, these customer populations share the same top three challenges to using digital payment options: security, paying on time, and access to technology or traditional banking.

“I am proud of the team at InvoiceCloud for focusing on what matters most––the success of our customers," said InvoiceCloud CEO Kevin O’Brien. “With the strength of our existing team and quality of the new leaders we have welcomed, InvoiceCloud is well-positioned to set new industry standards in innovative solutions and excellence in customer service.”

Highlights of InvoiceCloud’s momentum over the last two quarters include:

  • Notable growth among the InvoiceCloud partnership ecosystem, with seven new integrations and momentum with key partners including Guidewire and SAP.
  • More than 1,000 product enhancements designed to improve the biller and payer experience, including new POSPay terminals, improved Online Bank Direct functionality, updated omnichannel self-service options to empower customers, enhanced Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) to uphold accessibility standards, and expanded processor partnerships.
