For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.

University of Phoenix to Host Webinar “Job Search Action Plan”

Virtual, free event features expert insights from University career advisors and talent acquisition on kickstarting a job search in the New Year

University of Phoenix is pleased to announce that it will host a webinar, “Job Search Action Plan,” on Thursday, January 23, 11:00am PST (12:00pm MST/AZT, 2:00pm EST). The event features University of Phoenix Career Advisors Jamie Johnson and Greg Lewis, and Stephanie Hoselton, senior recruiter, Talent Acquisition, with Jessica Roper, director, Career Services, moderating the panel discussion on kickstarting a job search in 2025. The virtual event is free and open to the public.

“The new year brings new beginnings and fresh perspectives, naturally leading many to consider career shifts. We want to empower attendees with tools to help them stand out in a competitive job market,” states Roper. “We look forward to sharing resources on résumé building, job search strategies, hiring practices, and navigating technology, while offering practical steps to enhance career success.”

The webinar offers attendees the opportunity to learn how to craft a standout résumé optimized for applicant tracking systems (ATS), gain practical tips for effective résumé writing and construction, and to discover how to enhance one’s personal brand as well as valuable advice to support the next job search.

A recent global talent survey found that 35 percent of workers are considering a job switch this year. The University of Phoenix’s 2024 Career Optimism Index® study found that 68 percent of American workers remain positive about job opportunities.

As Director of Career Services at University of Phoenix, Roper leads a team of career advisors serving students and alumni in their career planning. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in communication from Arizona State University and her MBA with University of Phoenix. Roper is an active member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and she mentors through the UOPX women’s employee resource group and the Arizona Foundation for Women She Leads program.

Johnson has been a Career Advisor for University of Phoenix since October 2020 and has over 25 years in the career development field working in education, business and nonprofits. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) from the National Board of Certified Counselors and a Certified Career Counselor (CCC) from National Career Development Association, and an MBTI® Master Practitioner. Johnson is currently serving as a board member for the 2024-2025 North Carolina Career Development Association. She holds a Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Northridge, with a specialization in career counseling.

Lewis has over 10 years of career development experience, including direct support of adult learners and transitioning military and spouses. His career started as a middle school teacher, coach and athletic director and included many years as a consultant in the educational publishing industry. Lewis earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Santa Clara University and a Master of Arts in Postsecondary Educational Leadership from San Diego State University.

Hoselton joined University of Phoenix in August 2021, where, in her role as Senior Talent Acquisition Recruiter, she supports primarily marketing and student services role recruitment, managing the internal candidate pipeline and sourcing. Before joining University of Phoenix, Hoselton built over a decade worth of sourcing and recruiting experience at a boutique executive recruitment firm filling niche positions across financial services, healthcare, telecom and IT. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
