About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Moveworks Expands Strategic Alliance with Microsoft to Bring Third-Party Agent Capabilities to Microsoft 365 Copilot

New integration will allow employees to access the Moveworks AI Assistant within Microsoft 365 Copilot, enhancing productivity across the platform.

Moveworks, a leading generative AI assistant for employee support, today announced an expansion of its strategic alliance with Microsoft that will allow employees to access Moveworks as an agent within Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Teams. This integration marks a significant milestone in the evolution of enterprise AI, empowering employees to search and take action with Moveworks directly within Microsoft 365 Copilot.

In recent years, generative AI has transformed how users engage with conversational agents, raising the bar for intuitive and transparent interactions. While Microsoft has applied these innovations to its own Copilot platform, Moveworks as a Microsoft 365 Copilot agent will extend these capabilities for enterprise use cases. This collaboration will incorporate Microsoft’s generative AI framework, offering features that align with evolving expectations for conversational agents, including:

  • Guided interactions with sample prompts.
  • Real-time response streaming for faster feedback.
  • Citation transparency for factual responses.
  • Threaded conversations for easy access to past interactions.

The integration also introduces seamless interoperability between Microsoft 365 Copilot and Moveworks enterprise-grade agent. Employees can use Microsoft 365 Copilot to identify tasks from emails, chats, or calendar events, then rely on Moveworks to complete those tasks—such as submitting requests, resetting passwords, or updating systems—without breaking the workflow.

“With this integration, employees will be able to use Microsoft 365 Copilot to identify actions from their chats, emails, or calendar and leverage the Moveworks agent to seamlessly execute those tasks,” said Bhavin Shah, CEO of Moveworks. “By combining Microsoft’s generative AI capabilities with Moveworks deep integration across enterprise systems, we’re enabling employees to stay in the flow of work while achieving more in less time.”

“The Moveworks agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot empowers employees to efficiently handle tasks like IT access requests, HR time-off management and sales lead updates—all within their flow of work,” said Srini Raghavan, VP – Microsoft 365 Copilot Ecosystem. “By integrating with Microsoft 365 Copilot, this solution eliminates context switching, streamlines complex workflows, and accelerates decision-making, ultimately driving faster resolutions, higher productivity, and a more seamless employee experience.”

Moveworks is available for purchase via the Azure Marketplace, allowing organizations to use their pre-committed Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) spend toward Moveworks licensing.
