Assurant Supports Southern California Customers, Employees, and Communities Impacted by Wildfires

Policyholders can quickly and easily file a claim online, via phone, and now at in-person Assurant support sites in Burbank and Santa Monica

Assurant, Inc. (NYSE: AIZ), a leading global business services company that supports, protects, and connects major consumer purchases, has opened mobile claims support sites for Southern California policyholders affected by the devastating wildfires across the region. In addition to being able to quickly and easily file claims online or via phone, now policyholders can file claims at Assurant mobile claims sites in Burbank and Santa Monica. Assurant representatives will be on-site to offer customers in-person assistance to quickly file a claim.

Assurant’s new mobile claims sites will offer customers expert, in-person support on their path to restoring property and peace of mind. As part of Assurant’s long history supporting communities where we serve, live, and work, the Assurant Foundation is proudly donating to the American Red Cross California Wildfire Relief efforts, the California Community Foundation, and the California Fire Foundation to aid community recovery efforts in the greater Los Angeles area.”

In addition to providing adjusters on the ground to support customers in person, Assurant also enables policyholders to receive electronic payments, ensuring affected customers quickly receive the resources they need to begin recovery. For policyholders in the area who have not filed claims, Assurant is proactively contacting them with information to support filing a claim, which includes:

Assurant is also focused on supporting its Southern California-based employees to ensure their safety, including paid time off, access to the company’s Employee Assistance Program for help in managing trauma and stress, and emergency financial assistance to aid in recovery from the Assurant Cares Employee Support (ACES) Fund, which is an independent charitable organization established in 2017 to assist employees impacted by natural disasters.

As part of Assurant’s commitment to help communities impacted by wildfires, the Assurant Foundation is donating $150,000 to the American Red Cross. Since 2016, Assurant has supported the American Red Cross with grants and matching gifts of more than $2 million to assist in disaster relief efforts and is a member of its Disaster Responder Program. Assurant is also donating $50,000 to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund, which supports critical disaster recovery services, including housing, case management, mental health, and medical care for displaced residents, and $50,000 to the California Fire Foundation’s LA Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund, which aids victims of wildfires by providing financial assistance to purchase groceries, prescriptions, clothing, or other necessities.
