About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

TD SYNNEX Launches Digital Bridge to Simplify Integrations for Technology Partners

TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) announces the launch of the initial phase of the TD SYNNEX Digital Bridge Microsoft Teams Plugin, now available to customers in North America. This is the first plugin available as part of the new TD SYNNEX Digital Bridge solution.

TD SYNNEX Digital Bridge is a unique marketplace of pre-built integrations being designed to remove complexity and connect partners’ existing systems directly to TD SYNNEX, providing real-time information that will enable faster, automated workflows that can reduce costs and increase efficiency.

According to the TD SYNNEX 3rd annual Direction of Technology report, partners said that simplified, specialized tech solutions, ease of transacting business and business enablement are key factors when selecting a distribution partner. This approach will simplify integrations with tools and platforms businesses already use, empowering partners to strengthen their operational ecosystems. By offering pre-built solutions that eliminate the complexity of traditional integration processes, the Digital Bridge enables partners to easily adopt new capabilities without requiring extensive development resources.

“TD SYNNEX Digital Bridge is a powerful solution that will democratize integrations for our partners of all sizes and reduce the friction between highly used business applications, ultimately making it easier for our partners to connect, automate and grow,” said Nate Herz, SVP of Business Operations, North America, TD SYNNEX. “We developed and refined this offering through critical collaboration with members of CommunitySolv who have given us valuable input on their digital customer experience and ways we can streamline their operations for increased mutual efficiency.”

The Microsoft Teams Plugin exemplifies this commitment by providing partners with real-time access to essential data and seamless connectivity to their TD SYNNEX account teams—all from within their own systems. This new plugin helps partners streamline their operations by delivering real-time updates on inventory, pricing, and promotions. It eliminates the need to toggle between systems, making it easier for partners to collaborate, make informed decisions, and manage workflows in one familiar environment. Future enhancements, including advanced order tracking, detailed summaries, and logistics insights, will further expand its business impact, enabling partners to focus on growth and innovation.

“Having real-time access to this commercial information, directly inline through our own systems, aligns perfectly with our client-centric culture of operational excellence,” said Anthony J. D'Ambrosi, CEO of Abacus Group, a global Fintech MSP. “We were also honored to be invited to collaborate at each stage of the development process and can clearly see how this innovative tool will be a tremendous benefit to other MSPs and value added resellers across the ecosystem.”
