About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Lumata Health Announces New Clinical Advisory Board to Advance Efforts in Preventing Blindness through Industry-Leading Intelligent Eye Care Management Platform

Lumata Health, a technology-driven healthcare innovator empowering ophthalmology practices to enhance continuous care for those at risk of blindness from chronic eye diseases, today formally announced its Clinical Advisory Board (CAB). The esteemed group of five leading ophthalmologists will provide strategic guidance to further Lumata’s mission of reducing preventable blindness through its turnkey, patient-centered continuous care platform.

The CAB offers a unique perspective, delivering decades of expertise in treating the leading causes of vision loss and cutting-edge technological advances. The board is charged with playing a pivotal role in shaping Lumata Health’s clinical strategies and ensuring the company leads the industry at the forefront of eye care innovation.

“Our Clinical Advisory Board is comprised of some of the brightest minds in ophthalmology who channel their passion and studied perspectives on patient care and best practices, ensuring Lumata's patient support initiatives complement and enhance the clinical care provided by physicians,” said Landon Grace, CEO and co-founder of Lumata Health. “Their collective knowledge and experience offer invaluable insights as we continue to grow the number of patients we serve by over 200% year over year.”

The newly established CAB will prioritize enhancing Lumata's data-driven continuous care model, integrating the latest behavioral insights and clinical data to provide personalized, supportive care. This approach has already demonstrated an impact on improving patient adherence: a group of 100 patients enrolled in Lumata’s program for 9 months was projected to attend 72 more office visits per year compared to matched controls.

“Lumata Health fills an important missing link in closing the care adherence gap for millions of Americans at risk of blindness by truly serving as Care Coaches for patients, helping patients navigate appointments, medications, and being champions for their health, all driven behind-the-scenes by the latest technology, and always delivered with a human touch,” said Clinical Advisory Board Chair, Benjamin Kunz, MD, of Oregon Eye Consultants. “We’re all excited to advance this important mission to further enhance patient outcomes and expand access to Lumata’s life-changing services.”

Andrew McClellan, MD; Sumit P. Shah, MD, FACS, FASRS, NJ Retina; Murtaza Adam, MD, Colorado Retina Associates; and Swarup Swaminathan, MD, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute will also join the Lumata Health CAB.

Lumata Health’s continuous care program is reimbursable under Medicare’s Chronic Care Management billing codes and covered by secondary, supplement, or Medicare Advantage plans–often at no additional cost to patients. As a part of continuous care services, Lumata works with patients to help lower the cost of prescriptions, access transportation, understand their disease, ensure appointment adherence, and remove other barriers to care.

Lumata Health’s platform is currently trusted by more than 1,400 ophthalmologists at many of the largest eye care organizations in the U.S., supporting more than 25,000 patients with chronic eye diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.

Lumata Health has raised more than $14.8 million in non-dilutive and venture funding to date.
