About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Corebridge Financial Launches New Digital Experience for Retirement Plan Participants

New retirement plan digital experience helps participants take action with a streamlined look and feel, simplified navigation and integrated planning tools

Corebridge Financial has launched the next generation of its retirement plan digital experience, designed to provide retirement savers clear and simple information, effortless control, and guidance that fits with their personal financial journey.

“Our new retirement plan digital experience puts account details at participants’ fingertips, whether they’re at their desk or on the go,” said Terri Fiedler, President of Retirement Services at Corebridge Financial. “It offers so much more than typical account management, providing actionable information and intuitive features that put retirement savers on a personalized path to financial wellness.”

What’s New

The new Corebridge website features include:

  • Personal Dashboard conveniently placing account balance and performance front and center with deep insight on key account details. In one location, participants can review savings, personal and employer contributions, and an overall account snapshot. Employees can also bring in outside assets to their dashboard and see a complete picture of their finances with ease.
  • Action Bar allowing participants to quickly navigate to the action features most frequently used, providing faster access to statements, transaction history, fund and asset details, beneficiary information and more.
  • Message Center providing a one-stop shop to securely and easily send and receive sensitive documents and keep up to date on the status of requests, transactions, plan changes and other important notifications.

The enhanced website features are also available in the Corebridge retirement app, where savers can enroll in their workplace plan, manage their account and plan for their financial future. This seamless integration of account management capabilities builds on the flexibility of the Corebridge retirement plan website, which is optimized for any device. DALBAR, an independent market research firm, recently ranked the Corebridge website as one of the best in the industry for mobile optimization.

Built-in Resources

To help retirement plan participants take the right actions on their financial journey, the Corebridge digital experience integrates personalized guidance, intuitive tools, and interactive education resources, including:

  • Retirement Outlook Tool that helps employees estimate their monthly income in retirement and provides recommended strategies to meet those goals. Employees can directly change their contribution or asset allocation from the tool to stay on track.
  • Financial Wellness Assessment where plan participants answer questions on saving and spending, debt management and retirement planning and then receive a personalized Action Plan with recommended next steps. This Action Plan appears on the participant’s dashboard every time they log in.
  • Financial Wellness Center which provides financial education and planning tools on topics ranging from goal setting to student debt strategies.
