About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

SIXT USA Expands North America Operations With New Tulsa Office

New office underscores company’s growth strategy, strengthens North America operations, and creates jobs

SIXT USA, a subsidiary of Sixt SE – a global leader in premium mobility services – is further expanding its North American footprint with the opening of a new office in Tulsa, Okla. Scheduled to open in March 2025, the office will be located in the heart of downtown Tulsa’s central business district at One Technology Center, 175 E 2nd St.

As part of SIXT’s global strategy to enhance capabilities in key markets around the world, the Tulsa office will support the company’s ongoing expansion across North America – SIXT’s largest growth market – while reinforcing its commitment to best-in-class customer service.

Initially occupying approximately 15,000 square feet and employing 70 people in its first year, the office is projected to expand to 41,000 square feet and 200 employees within five years. This new hub will complement SIXT’s North American headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., by expanding the company’s capabilities across essential business functions.

Tom Kennedy, President, SIXT North America: “We are excited to establish our presence in Tulsa and become an integral part of this dynamic and fast-growing city. With its skilled workforce, strategic location, and strong business ecosystem, Tulsa provides the ideal environment to support our continued expansion. This new office will enhance our ability to support branches and customers across multiple time zones, ensuring seamless service as we scale our operations.”

Monroe Nichols, Mayor of Tulsa: "I am excited to welcome SIXT on their expansion to Tulsa and glad Tulsa’s value is showcased as a city dedicated to business retention and development. I want to thank SIXT for choosing Tulsa and I look forward to the positive impact they will have both on our economy and in our community.”

Mike Neal, President and Chief Executive Officer, Tulsa Regional Chamber: “We are thrilled to welcome SIXT to our city and our business community as the company continues its expansion across North America. SIXT’s presence not only will enhance service for its customers across the U.S. and Canada but also contribute to our local economy and workforce. We look forward to a strong partnership with SIXT as it gains a foothold in Tulsa.”

Since launching U.S. operations in 2011, SIXT has emerged as a leading mobility provider in the competitive rental car industry. This success is driven by strategic network expansion, the industry’s highest premium fleet share, innovative marketing, and a team of more than 2,000 dedicated, customer-focused team members with an unwavering commitment to service excellence.

Today, SIXT operates more than 100 rental car branches in 26 states and now serves 51 of the most important airports across the country. In addition, by launching operations in Canada in 2022, SIXT is tapping into another billion-dollar market that also offers potential for synergies with its U.S. operations.
