About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Ethisphere Names Paychex Among World’s Most Ethical Companies® for 17th Time

Paychex, Inc., a leading provider of integrated human capital management software solutions for human resources, employee benefits, insurance services, and payroll has once again been named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® by Ethisphere. This marks the 17th time Paychex has been recognized since the annual program began in 2007.

Ethisphere is a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices that recognizes a select group of companies each year for their exceptional commitment to ethical operations, compliance performance, and governance practices. In 2025, 136 companies were recognized spanning 19 countries and 44 industries. Paychex is one of only three companies to receive this honor 17 times.

“It is an incredible honor to once again be named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies,” said John Gibson, Paychex president and CEO. “I hold this designation in the highest regard because it represents an unwavering commitment to operating with the very best ethical practices in all facets of our business. Our clients, employees, shareholders, and communities count on us to uphold these standards, so receiving recognition for this fundamental value is something we’re very proud of.”

Founded on principles of integrity more than a half century ago, Paychex continues to advance corporate citizenship initiatives and serve as a good community steward today. In FY24, the company remained committed to supporting employee overall well-being, being good corporate citizens, and giving back to the communities where Paychex employees live and work. Last year, the Paychex Charitable Foundation reported $2.3 million in giving, representing a 17 percent increase from the prior year.

“Doing business the right way is a responsibility of every member of the Paychex team,” said Prabha Sipi Bhandari, Paychex chief legal officer, chief ethics officer, and secretary. “In order to achieve our goals and organizational aspirations, we continually recommit ourselves to upholding the highest ethical standards. This dedication drives a steadfast pursuit of best practices in governance and our continuous focus on living our company values for the benefit of all stakeholders.”

“Congratulations to Paychex for achieving recognition as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies®. Behind this honor is a true dedication and a commitment to advancing business integrity. This approach is good for business – employees and other stakeholders value companies that prioritize the kinds of practices we measure with our process,” said Erica Salmon Byrne, Ethisphere’s chief strategy officer and executive chair.

Methodology & Scoring

The World's Most Ethical Companies assessment is based on Ethisphere's proprietary Ethics Quotient®, which requires companies to provide 240+ different proof points on practices that support robust ethics and compliance, governance, a culture of ethics, environmental and social impact, and initiatives that support a strong value chain. That data undergoes further qualitative analysis by Ethisphere’s panel of experts who evaluate each year's group of applicants. This process serves as an operating framework to capture and codify best-in-class ethics and compliance practices from organizations across industries and from around the world.
